not to be the artificer discourse guy (tm) but i Cannot believe 'Collective Punishment Bad' is in any way a controversial take in this fandom
#spire salt#it's not even about whether or not the toll scavs were justified in killing the blue pup (which they weren't; obviously. that is a child)!#it's about the fact that nothing could ever fucking warrant going after the whole /species/#it's about the fact that there is no world in which the scavengers are a monolith.#even just going by the base game they have different personalities and shit#following all lore and evidence they are /individuals/#and as long as they are individuals then it is /impossible/ to justify such atrocity#man. I love artificer but i see wayyyy too many people acting like their actions are fair just because their pups died#if they had just gone after the scavengers who killed the pups i would have loved them. that would've been a slay.#but they really did not need to do whole entire warcrimes about it.
