Azula Week - Day 7: Mothers

My second and final entry for @azulaweek is probably a very big surprise to anyone who has known me for any amount of time in this fandom... :'D

I had a lot of ideas that I ultimately couldn't realize for most of this event, but when this concept crossed my mind, all my obsessive instincts were triggered at once and I just HAD to make it happen xD I've never made efforts to hide my very unfavorable opinions of Ursa. But I HAVE made painstaking efforts to hide my much more positive ideas regarding this very complicated character... and why's that?

... Because as most anyone will be able to tell, this isn't canon Ursa by any means xD I've developed my own interpretation of Ursa, it's a wholly different direction for her character, and I'll be ready to unveil what that means very soon, when she's finally ready for action in-story!

I seriously meant to keep some things about Ursa quiet for a biiiit longer... but when this prompt was assigned for Azula Week, my heart just NEEDED to create this piece no matter what.

Hence... here's my first artwork depicting Azula and Ursa's healing relationship: it's time for these two mothers to mend each other's broken hearts by finally making the right choices for their little family. As a result of those choices, here's our wholesome family portrait featuring three generations of the Fire Nation Royal Family, two mothers, two daughters, one granddaughter, one grandmother, one Fire Lord murderer...

Honestly, creating this piece was genuinely gratifying and healing for me, not just for Azula and Ursa xD I'm very grateful to have joined @azulaweek again, even if just with two entries! Thank you to @bellatrixobsessed1 for hosting this event as ever, you're an inspiration!
