From the perspective of someone with a good understanding of sustainability and how agriculture works, some of the things people claim as “eco friendly” are so insane
#I’m nearly every case the most eco friendly option is looking as local as you can#eating vegan isn’t inherently better#I live in the upper Midwest okay#eating locally grown beef is far more sustainable than depending on fruits and vegetables and grains that have to be important from halfway#across the world#and I don’t know why it’s so hard for people to understand that#additionally those water charts are neat and all#but irrigating strawberries for months is different than letting a cow drink out of a stream or even giving it water from a hose#a local cow for me is getting filtered river water from an environment that can handle that water being used for something other than nature#anyways. many thoughts about performative and uninformed sustainability that people follow blindly
