it's literally so funny that the kekkaishi wiki lists sumiko's age as "35-42" like I know she looks young as fuck but also. masamori is literally 21 do you think she gave birth to him at age 14??? genuinely??? do you really think that??? you think that 21 is the OLDEST she possibly could have been when she had her first son???????

#just thinking thoughts...#shigemori is 68 according to the wiki #so I suppose I can understand to some degree...#but if anything I'd think shigemori is the one who had a child early #considering the fact that his own wife is never mentioned it feels like an arranged marriage that wasn't particularly great #like yeah it's what I gotta do #on the other hand it really feels like shuuji is genuinely really far removed from the supernatural #which gives me the feeling that he only got into it later in his life (high school or college maybe)#rather than growing up in it as yoshimori did #and through that he meets sumiko (probably)#but genuinely I think sumiko isn't too interested in marriage #so maybe she just knows that he really likes her and knows she has to get married and have kids one day so she just really cut and dry #went 'let's get married. win-win'. in a sort of loveless (affectionate) way #like the marriage fraud post.#but like even then. let's say they MET around high-school age #I feel like she'd at least wait until shigemori got on her ass about not being married first to actually do anything about it #and I just CANNOT see him doing that at age 14. sorry.#maybe early 20s. but even then that's like. 22-24 to me. and that's just getting MARRIED.#I feel like having a child is a few years after that too #so like let's say 25 or 26 is when sumiko ACTUALLY had a kid.
