okay but what if *shakes magic 8 ball* sigyn's sons were there for the kinslaying at alqualondë but *shakes it again* they were part of the group that misunderstood the situation and one of them died but the other survived to make it to middle-earth and *shakes the magic 8 ball one last time* after following him there, sigyn refuses to leave until he decides he's earned his forgiveness from the valar and can travel into the west with her.

#me rolling the dice on tolkien's lore: i think this makes sense #like in this case technically the forgiveness was given already!#but i think vali just has not forgiven himself for his part in it #particularly the loss of his brother still stings him after all those yrs #re; sigyn. ( the epitome of all things healing and good )#hc; sigyn.#v; sigyn lotr. ( regret undying & never wholly assuaged )
