something something ted and nate aren't mirror images, nate and jamie are, because season 1 showed ted trying to do the same thing with both (help and mentor and teach belief to two young men with severe daddy issues), and by season 3 jamie uses ted's sewer metaphor and talks like ted to the guys and channels his inner lasso, while nate talks shit publicly and spits on himself for self confidence

and that's the true parallel storytelling of ted lasso
