You’re sitting ringside, a place you’ve become all too familiar with. No matter what, you never miss one of Tom’s fights. Something in you, can’t. It doesn’t matter what’s going on but you’re right there, ringside, cheering him with the roaring crowd around you. Some people don’t get it and think you’re a little crazy for wanting to always watch because what if he gets hurt? They couldn’t watch the person they love getting punched repeatedly but for you? For you, it’s easier because at least if he does get hurt, you’re here. Always.

But, tonight is not the night where you have to deal with him being hurt because his hand is being raised above his head while the announcer says he’s won by unanimous decision. There’s a gleaming and cocky smirk right across his face that’s also decorated with bits of his blood and a few bruises. He finds you, in your normal spot of this venue and he gives you a quick wink making you scrunch your nose at him.

Peter is quick on your heels, keeping on with your fast pace as you reach the door to leave his apartment buildings.

“I’ll be fine, Pete.” You groan, pushing the door open, Peter’s hand replacing yours to hold it open for himself.

“What if something happens?” Peter asks in a rush, now walking side-by-side with you.

It’s ten at night and you decided you were going to walk home. It’s less than a fifteen minute walk and it’s a walk you’ve made a hundred times now. Peter usually walks you home but he's a hard night patrolling and he had work in the morning. You really don't want to trouble him by walking you home.

"Nothing's going to happen." You let out a sigh as you come to halt, Peter walking a few steps ahead you not expecting you to suddenly stop. "I'm fine, Peter." You plead with him as you face him.
