#umineko liveblog#came to a demented revelation that detective fiction/romance fiction is basically just the meat/candy binary#btw 'magic' in this image can be substituted for the word 'narrative' so you know exactly what i'm getting at here#for any of this to make sense it assumes the one (1) heads up i have about the epilogues comparison being valid is correct + trustworthy#and also assumes everything in umineko is related to everything else. if either statement is false then everything i am saying is nonsense#basically was comparing falling into the murder mysteries as akin to getting hung up on caliborn's masterpiece#when the more important thing to do is go 'fuck this complicated narrative construct' and break the rules to save calliope#like who cares if you solve the crime if you never get to the emotional core etc etc etc
