I love Damsel but there is something fucked up about playing a Fledgling who got dominated and belittled by Lacroix into doing things they didn't want to do, gets themselves kicked out because they and Lacroix have had enough of each other, and then gets pressured into going back.

From a gameplay perspective its solely to keep the story moving so you don't hit a brickwall, but it lends itself so well to Rosa's warning to tread carefully around everyone but Beckett and Mercurio. Even the 'good guys' have an agenda, and they're working the angles as much as the antagonist is.

#vtmb #damsel #srsly i love her she's tiny and full of anger and the fact she's also kind of an asshole helps to round out her character #its about the hypocrisy of using this green-bean newbie to take down the enemy #being as much an opportunist as lacroix without the flowery language #its about the 'we've got too many idiots hanging around and you’ve got a unique position make yourself useful to us'#and its because they're at war and tensions are high and they're surrounded on all sides #so hell yeah we'll take every opportunity we get even if it means bullying this newbie into going back to someone that's abused them #and tried to get them killed at least two or three times now #bloodlines has a ton of flaws but its characters are brilliant for how layered they are
