Blarrets are the only consumers of the marsh elk (first time actually showing people one, it's fairly small for their species tbh kinda boring, also needs to be weirder looking will redesign them) which are often much bigger than themselves. Making them one of the two monsters to regularly take down things similar in size to them. To do this they use their swift movement and entrancing song to disorient their prey, then, unlike most animals, go for the head in aim to puncture their skull and brain to incapacitate their prey (like actual ferrets, or at least the wild ones, the polecat). If they aren't super busy they'll then properly kill them and drag them to their burrow to eat, blarrets are in the middle of the food chain and in danger when exposed while distracted. They are actually occasionally eaten by the same species they specialize in hunting, marsh elk are omnivores and deep in the woods can grow to enormous sizes.
