Those of yโ€™all that know me know that I love video games, and one of my absolute favorites is the Bioshock franchise. Iโ€™ve decided to do a commission series featuring Elizabeth from that series and showcase her journey in these pieces. Elizabeth is a top fictional favorite of mine, so this series means a whole lot to me, and itโ€™s all thanks to the amazing @gessueter!!!
เผ‰โ€งโ‚Šหš๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธ๐Ÿ–คโ€เผ‰โ€งโ‚Šหš.
This art features Elizabeth in her tower, reading one of her countless books.wishing to leave and explore the world outside. Here, sheโ€™s still blissfully unaware of her being groomed to be Comstockโ€™s heir for Colombia, and unknowing of his plans for her. Elizabeth is still rather naive in this stage due to her lack of exploration of the world outside her tower, finding comfort only in her reading, and other various hobbies like her famous (and crazy helpful!) lockpicking! She is still the bird in the cage.

well I finally played bioshock infinite and burial at sea and I have learned 3 things
1) w. why is infinite so much more gory than the others. there's so much more explicit blood. it's cool but also. major jump in actually seeing the horrifying shit happening in Columbia versus in the first two games fjskjd
2) SO THATS WHY EVERYONE DRAWS JACK IN THAT ONE SWEATER
3) *tears in my eyes while listening to you belong to me* Time Is A Flat Circle Made Of Blood, Classism, And Unethical Child Experimentation

โ€œI will always be there for youโ€
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
He looked and acted like a person who had no feelings, was not an angel, but was a devil.
He hurt many people, he was terrible, he could take advantage of anyone.
But there was a part of him deep in his heart that he didn't want to show. The reason why he became like this. Reason unknown to anyone.
No one could understand his character and his decisions. He was the embodiment of evil, but the past sometimes made itself felt. It was apeared in his nightmares and memories. And deep in his heart, hurting him.
Even if he became someone else again, and hid his past again, he couldn't lie to Jack, whom decided to spare him rather than kill when they finally met in a likely fight to the death.
He considered Jack to be close to him, even if he wanted to kill him. At one point he couldn't make up his mind. However, he did what was right for him. He left Jack alive, as well as Rapture, but he couldn't let him escape to the surface and forget who he had truly become and what his true past was.
Jack couldn't take revenge on Frank and listen to Tenenbaum. He knew he would regret this decision. The death of a man he started hated after finding out the whole truth about himself.
Would he really feel better about killing the man who hurted him? The emotions of relief would have left him quickly, and the emotions and great pain of this decision would have tormented him for the rest of his life.
He couldn't set such an example for the little girls he saved and loved him.
Atlas, who didn't want Jack to call him Fontaine, sometimes just Frank, couldn't understand Jack's behavior and the fact that despite all the pain he had caused him (and not only him), he wanted to help him fix his bloody heart and understand his lonely and terrible childhood that made him become this way and decide to become someone completely different. A monster.
Jack trusted him implicitly, and because of his lack of control over Jack, he had his conditioning restored again by someone else than Tenenbaum (who let her escape with girls on the surface). It was conditioning that made him listen to him with those three simple words as a request and even pity.
Even though Jack asked Atlas not to do it, he did it anyway.
Jack, however, didn't show hatred and came to terms with it all, wanting to be with him.
When he was desperate, he asked him for it and he agreed to it. He stayed with him.
Even if he abandoned the Fontaine identity forever, Atlas decided to stay in Rapture and remain Atlas forever. Sometimes being with his real name - Frank. Only for Jack.
But will his past nightmares and many mistakes also be forgotten and forgiven by Jack? He wanted to believe it, but it was hard to forget about the difficult, terrible life in which he had no one at all. However, now someone remained in it.

Just finished BioShock Infinite, and oh my god, did it feel like a chore.
I see why most people tell you to play it like it isn't a bioshock game.
Spoilers below by the way
The fact that rapture, the little sisters, big daddies, and pretty much anything that has to do with BioShock 1 and 2 is only really given a throw away scene for maybe 3 minutes in the base game and given two dlc stories instead of a spotlight is insane to me.
Also, the fact that they jumped from two games with a very heavy "choices matter" and have an impact on the games ending." To "well nothing really matters so fuck it." Hurts.
It was also very convoluted, and it tried to go for this deep message without giving us a reason to care.
Also quick fire-
โ€ข I don't understand the racism aspect in the game, like maybe I'm just missing something or its period typical, but it made me uncomfortable.
โ€ขThe religious aspect is tiring after about five minutes. It was just. So. Boring.
โ€ขElizabeth gets super unlikable after the main story. I have a hard time feeling bad for her.
EDIT- ALSO the replacement from plasmids, EVEs, and ADAM to salts, vigor, and the drinks was also jaring an upsetting.
However
I know people love this game, and I don't exclusively hate it. I was just underwhelmed and disappointed.
I did like Booker and his character design/ voice actor. All the designs in infinite are very unique and visually appealing. I love the idea of Columbia being the opposite of rapture. There's probably more but I'm very tired lol.

Breaking Control โ†  Atlas
โžผ Word Count ยป 0.6k โžผ Warnings ยป Manipulation, this takes place during Burial At Sea โžผ Genre ยป Platonic/Romantic
"I'm done, Atlas.." You muttered, gripping tiredly at your elbows, "I can't keep doing this.."
He doesn't say anything immediately, only glancing in your direction before returning to the morse code contraption sitting on the desk. After an uncomfortable stretch of silence, he stops studying the clicks and stalks toward you.
"What are you sayin', love?"
"I'm saying that I want to quit... I want to go back to the life I had before-"
"The one where you had nothing?" He interrupted, "The one I had to carry you out of? Do you know where you'd be without my help?"
You don't answer him. Instead letting out an involuntary shiver as you continue staring out the broad window that displayed the dim ocean floor. The sight of such a vast environment quickly lost its charm the longer you stayed in Rapture. The allure and wonder it once struck you with was now replaced with dread and regret for ever coming down in the first place. Look at where all that drive for adventure got you.
His hands came to rest firmly on your shoulders, gentle for now, but you weren't sure how long it'd last.
"You'd be dead." He whispers softly, loving how much smaller - how much weaker you are compared to him. He's got you on strings with no intention of cutting you loose, not now at least.
"You think Ryan'd welcome ya back with open arms?"
"I just don't want to have to hurt anybody anymore..." You sighed, moving your gaze to your feet to avoid looking at him in the reflection of the glass.
"Hurt anyone? D'you mean those little monsters who run around collecting Adam?"
"Those aren't anybody, dear," He continued after you had nodded to his question, "They're merely tools. I wouldn't be surprised if they couldn't feel sympathy altogether."
"They're little girls!" You protested, spinning to face him.
"Not anymore, they're not." He chuckled dryly, arms now crossed over his chest, displeased with how combative you've started to get.
"It's horrible, the things you're doing!" You cried out, desperate to find some sort of humanity locked away somewhere within him. "You can't keep doing this to them! You shouldn't! It's immoral!"
You flinched back as his hand came up to grab at you.
"You're not going to quit until that girl gets back with what we need, do you understand?" He growled, gripping your chin tightly, forcing you to look into his eyes. "I don't care what you do after."
He let go of your face roughly as he walked back toward the machine that hadn't stopped tapping.
A tear slowly made its way down your face as you realized how hopeless your situation truly was. He wasn't going to let you leave, and if he did, it'd mean you'd be killed.
Turning yourself to face the window again was the only thing that felt right at that moment. Maybe if you envisioned it hard enough you'd feel that same wonder and amazement that flooded you when you had first stepped foot into this awful city. Maybe you'd be able to imagine yourself living a life far away from Atlas, or even the ocean in general.
All your eyes wanted to focus on was his reflection which was plastered by the faint light hanging above him as he scrawled the code down. You sneered at it for a moment before sighing tiredly. What a dreadful place to find yourself in.

โ€œIn 1958 Kyle Fitzpatrick held more power in the social hierarchy of Rapture than most of Ryanโ€™s alleged โ€˜Best and Brightestโ€™. With strong ties to not only Fort Frolic but the empire of Fontaine Futuristics, the young Fitzpatrick (aged 19 at the time) became one of the key players in the rebellion after the untimely death of his sponsor, Frank Fontaine.โ€

The last, but most certainly not least piece in my commission series with the ever amazing and talented @gessueter features Elizabeth in the Burial at Sea DLC for Bioshock Infinite. This DLC beautifully tied together the whole series and features Elizabeth at her best in my opinion, especially as we FINALLY get to play as her!!! This last chapter is definitely the most heartbreaking as we see her at her most vulnerable and most badass by taking charge. Elizabeth is one of my fave fictional characters, and itโ€™s so wonderful to share her both satisfying and heartbreaking conclusion in this last piece. Be sure to give @gessueter all the love and support for being such an amazing talent bringing my girl to life in these pieces. I hope yโ€™all have enjoyed these as much as I have!!
