OK so. soda ash maybe does dissolve beeswax but only in boiling water temperatures. which raises the question of: who the fuck started the rumor that this happened in the dyebath???? considering the entire purpose of the beeswax in the first place...well you are doing a cold water dye bath for a reason. where did the soda ash myth start I've heard it from so many sources that's so crazy.

#to be fair: this was a triple boiled piece of fabric at this point. but!!!#i had boiled it in vinegar for the second boil and that didnt do shit so many areas were still stiff with wax. but to be fair my #big boiling pot was occupied so i had it crammed in a really small pot so who knows maybe i should try in a larger pot idk.#anyway the quilting weight fabric is soooo soft and pliable and def wax free which even a hearty boil and then a plunge into ice water and #then 30 minutes of crumpling and scrubbing couldnt get the wax all the way out
