Okay wow this gets complicated.

(This is purely based of stuff I've read online as a side thing when I go into rabbit holes so you're going to be more correct than me in any case)

Kalki/Kalkin is mentioned in at least 4 major Hindu texts (Mahabharat, Matsya Purana, Vishnu Puran and Bhagvat Puran) and there are...well, differences. And let's not even venture into Buddhist and Sikh interpretations (for now, it is interesting though).

If we were to make a generalization though (again, from what I've understood), Kalki leads to the destruction of the universe and Harihara dissolves to regenerate it, thus inaugurating a new Chatur Yuga, which in theory means a new Vishnu cycle and thus a new Matsya.

I started this as a joke, now I’ve stared a conspiracy discussion— 😭

Call me an idiot but I think its still possible because there are versions which say otherwise, like Shiva being the destroyer of universe, Lord Vishnu just falling a deep slumber, etc. etc. Even if its a new Vishnu Cycle, I’m pretty sure Shree Hari has made it clear that rules don’t matter for that guy, like he can start a new cycle in retrospect aswell if he wanted to. That dude wakes up every yugacycle and chooses chaos. I honestly wouldn’t be surprised.
