unfortunately, now I am thinking of aylin attending isobel's funeral. everyone knows she was isobel's love but do they all take her grief seriously? or do they see an immortal and expect her to get over it?
aylin visiting the thorm mausoleum to grieve... reaching out to ketheric because they both loved isobel so much... but eventually he rejects her. doesn't believe she has the right to mourn as he does. so aylin is left to grieve alone and yet she doesn't begrudge him (not yet anyway). she comes calling when he asks for help....

BG3 SPOILERS (KIND OF???)
Ok but imagine if Orin had kidnapped Astarion instead. Because it happens early in Act 3. You learn about the imposter in camp before you reach the lower city & Astarion's "siblings" try to grab him.
I firmly beleive Cazadork would've still tried to kidnap him from Orin rather than make one more spawn to replace Astarion because he's a lazy petty little bitch and Orin can't just let someone else kill her hostage. That's her only leverage!!! So naturally she'd steal him back leading to what is basically a massive game of Keep Away between Bhaalists, the vamps, and our merry band of weirdos

LOOK I JUST REALLY ENJOY THEIR FRIENDSHIP OK?? You can't tell me they wouldn't hang after their respective personal quests (spawn ending ofc)/emotional breakdowns over their own mortality
EDIT: I forgot to watermark these so now more than ever PLEASE don't repost

I'm still in act 1 with Mischief, but I went and made my wood elf druid, Corsen, anyhow.
Corsen lives in Honor Mode because it'll be a miracle if I can get him far enough for it to matter how similar to Halsin he is build-wise.
So far it's going

what's dangerous about aylin/isobel for me is that their story/relationship is fleshed out just enough without giving me everything which is, unfortunately, exactly the kind of ship my brain zooms in on obsessively

Gortash has his controlled and manipulative way with seducing people. Sex is just an operation for him, part of his task to get something out of people, whether it’s money, blackmail, information… bla bla bla
Durge has their thing with corpses. And I know Larian probably just threw it in the game for shock value but I think it also works as a symptom of their “urge”. Durge gets a euphoric feeling from murder so combing the two makes sense in a disgusting way, that & I think their condition perhaps led to just a complete inability to engage sexually with anyone sanely. (At least for my Durge anyhow).
So when the two get together I genuinely wonder if it would even be all that sexy at first. I mean, I like to imagine it’s the first time Durge has slept with anyone (living anyway) and Gortash is, for the first time, engaging in sex for no reason other than because he genuinely desires someone, wants them.
They’re like a pair of intimacy virgins. Bonus points if Durge has never even kissed anyone before. I bet they’d both be so nervous, fumbling over each other. Durge would need some guidance and eventually they’d get there and connect and fuck desperately and all that but…
I just like the idea that they’re both completely inexperienced at genuine, real, relationships that they’d both be a bit stupefied by it all. Those first few kisses, clumsy as hell…
Just two lost souls that have never been able to understand what a real relationship is like until they stumbled into this odd thing they’ve got going on.
