My Dog has Anxiety.

Most of the time when I tell people that my dog is anxious they laugh. They don’t see him flinch and run. Leaving a trail of pee, everytime someone he’s cautious of moves too close or too fast. They didn’t see how much more scared he was when I got him. He was scared of me, he was scared of the heater, even the open windows of my car. It broke my heart to see a furbaby so scared of everything around him. He would sleep under my bed just to hide. Eventually, he got to the point where he would just bark at anything he was scared of. It took so many months to get my dog to trust. Some men he still hasn’t taken to. If someone truly tries, He will show them how much he loves.

Not many people can say they have truly met my dog. He only loves a select few. He always wants love and to be acknowledged. It is to the point where if he hears people on the phone that he likes he will become vocal. Which may sound cute but I can assure you, it is not. Sometimes he will come up and collapse on you just wanting to be held. Which for a 55+ lb dog can tend to be a bit dramatic looking, But every moment I spend with my dog I fall more and more in love with him. To see how devoted a dog becomes, no matter how stressed or anxious they may be. To watch a dog go from a scared 20lb little fur ball to a slightly anxious 55+ lb handsome pup. I wish sometimes I could show him I proud I am of him.
