Straight lines that unwind you
She does a little thing with her eye that says "We're off soon"
She says the bleeding's incidental, 'cause she's so cool
She says "I'm no fun if I've only a bottle of wine"
Now she's doing it all the time
Slow down, yeah I want you
She does a little bit on the sly that shows what she's up to
She started talking about missing him
She was glistening
It won't mend your heart if it's only a couple of lines
And now she's doing it all the time

Being Funny in a Foreign Language - A Summary
The 1975: Evidence in LCD Soundsystem's copyright suit against The 1975
Happiness: Nominative determinism. The title is how I feel when I listen to the song
Looking For Somebody (To Love): Move over Pumped Up Kicks, there's a new absolute banger about school shootings in town
Part of the Band: Please listen to Japanese Breakfast she's fucking great
Oh Caroline: Closest to contemporary pop they've ever come. Anyone could have released this, and yet they've still nailed it
I'm In Love With You: Everywhere - Fleetwood Mac (2022 Version)
All I Need To Hear: This isn't half as cutesy as it initially appears. If most of the songs on here are about one relationship, this is the point where it starts to go wrong
Wintering: The best Christmas song released in the last 15 years
Human Too: "Maybe I'm an idiot, but maybe you are too"
About You: Shoegaze lullaby about a long forgotten love. This genuinely makes me feel like I'm floating
When We Are Together: Cows wearing sweaters. Oh, and the relationship is over now.

How CBS uses same actors in different roles-
-Dane Daniels is a financial general manager that is suspected for the kidnapping of one of his workers wife, and appears in the episode Dead Air (4x21) on CSI : Miami.
-Josh Bedford is the rector of Rockland University, near to Granview. He appears in some episodes of S5 on Ghost Whisperer. He works for the Shadows, evil non human dark forms, to save his mother; then the Shadows kill him, because he isn’t able to recover The Book of Changes.
-Father Davison is a priest, friend of David Rossi, who appears in the episode Demonology (4x17) on Criminal Minds.
-Avery Tindsdale is a wealty father of a kidnapped woman, with a not so clear past, who appears in the episode Father of the Bride (20x11) on CSI : Crime Scene Investigation.
So, poor Bruce Davidson, his characters are almost always (except when he played the priest) contaminated by dark shades.

Doctor Who convention raises thousands for charity
Tumblr media
Paul McGann said he enjoyed meeting fans at the event and one gave him a certificate naming a planet after him
Doctor Who actor Paul McGann has praised a convention he took part in after it raised over £17,000 for charity.
The ninth annual Bedford Who event was held on Saturday, where fans paid for autographs and selfies with stars of the BBC television show.
Money raised has been split between Bedford Foodbank, homeless charity Smart, and FACES, which supports vulnerable families.
McGann, who starred in the 1996 Doctor Who TV movie, said the event had a more friendly feel to bigger, "pretty commercial" conventions he had done in America.
Tumblr media
Some fans attended the event at King's House in Bedford dressed as characters from the show
He said fans gave him gifts on the day including sweets, artwork and even a naming certificate for a planet.
"It's been lovely, it's been friendly, we can literally look each other in the eye, I prefer that," he said.
The actor, 64, told BBC Three Counties Radio he considered visiting nearby Stony Stratford, where he filmed part of the 1987 film Withnail & I.
A chemist in the town was transformed into a tea room for the black comedy, where McGann and Richard E Grant's characters drunkenly demanded cake and fine wine.
He said: "It was a big deal because Withnail was filmed all in London or the Lakes except just for that little bit of Milton Keynes.
"Do you think if I go back to the place will anybody twig that it's me?"
Tumblr media
Organiser Simon Danes said the money raised far exceeded expectations
Organiser Simon Danes said he was "gobsmacked" with the final amount raised and praised "the generosity of Doctor Who fans and kindness of celebrity guests".
The 58-year-old said: "We were expecting about 10k but we weren't expecting it to be as high as that.
Also appearing at the event was Jemma Redgrave, who recently starred on screen alongside David Tennant and new Doctor Ncuti Gatwa.
The organiser added: "Jemma is so busy she doesn't do many conventions, so we honoured she has come to us.
"It's the first time we had a star of the current series with us."
The retired teacher added: "Next year is our 10th anniversary, so we're hoping to do something even more special, don't ask me what is yet."

#DoctorWho: This Year's Bedford Who Charity Con Raises an Astonishing £17,000!
We’re very proud to announce that this year’s Bedford Who Charity Con, an event organised by our very own Simon Danes, raise more than £17,000 for charity! In fact, it raised an astounding £17,101. That’s over £6,000 more than its previous record, meaning the convention is going from strength to strength. And no wonder: this year’s sported an incredible array of guests including Eighth Doctor,…

We wound through Bedfordshire checking off the signs steadily until we reached the village sign. Harrold. Oh, it was a joyful sight.
Derek Taylor.
This area has been fought over and sought after for thousands of years as it sits in the almost flat valley of the River Great Ouse, fourth largest in Britain, which is navigable by ship but has few bridges, one of which is here. Harrold is an old village from which the river flows down to Bedford and Bromham then to the sea at Lincolnshire.
There was a Roman farmstead here, albeit a fairly small one, from  the 1st century, and after the Romans left Britainnia in 410, the Anglo-Saxons moved in and founded the Kingdom of Mercia, whose greatest ruler, Offa, established a fort here and is believed to have been buried in Bedford at his death in 796.
Throughout his time, Bedfordshire was fought over because it sat on the river, and was overrun by the Great Heathen Army in 873-4, before the Anglo-Saxons reasserted themselves when Athelstan, first king of a united realm of England, defeteated the Vikings and their allies in 937. (Many Bedfordshire folk are descended from these same Danes, whose forefathers had been Vikings, long since Christianised and intermarried with Anglo-Saxons).
Harrold was a village orbiting the thriving Anglo-Saxon town of Bedford until 1066, when William of Normandy seized the English throne from Harold Godwinson, the last Anglo-Saxon king of England (and himself half Danish) and became William the Conqueror.
At this time, these lands were held by Waltheof, Earl of Northumbria (himself part Danish) and after a Danish invasion in 1069, many native English rose up in revolt against William and Waltheof was part of this, but was pardoned by William and married to William’s niece, Judith, though this did not help unite the Normans and English, and Waltheof joined another rebellion and  was put to death in 1076.
The lands were given to Judith, and became part of the Barony of Bedford, which evolved into the Dukedom of Bedford; the Dukes of Bedford became wealthy, powerful leaders of intellectual and political life who still own the huge Woburn Abbey, which I haven’t yet been to.
As I said, there are not many bridges on this stretch of river , but there has been one here since at least 1136 and what you see now is of unknown age but probably well over 500 years old. It has been repaired many times, most lately in 1992.
Harrold Priory was founded in 1138 by Samson le Fort, and Grade 1 listed Saint Peter (10) was built in the 13th century on an old Anglo-Saxon worship site, with St Nicholas, Chellington (1) in 1278. The priory, though, was dissolved by Henry VIII in 1536 Harrold Hall was built in its place between 1608 and 1610 by local squire Francis Farrar.
This was part of the Protestant Reformation, which was popular in Bedford; soon after this Civil War broke out in 1642 and William Russell, from a family that had become the wealthiest and most powerful in the area at the Reformation (being made Earls of Bedford in 1551), and whom the Farrars orbited, was a lord-general in the Parliamentary army which rebelled against Charles and which included John Bunyan, ending in the execution of King Charles I in 1649.
Russell and most villagers later came to terms with the Restoration of Charles I’s son, Charles II, in 1660 (please see here for what happened in between, little of which happened here)  and Harrold and Odell quietly prospered without much happening here except the successful campaign in 1847, led by the Misses Trevor of Chellington, to save the old bridge from being replaced by an iron bridge; it was repaired by Earl de Grey in 1856 and has been kept in order since, and you can still drive over this bridge today.
Quarrying (7) began on this site in World War Two (please go to the Higgins Museum to learn about Bedford’s many contributions to the war effort) and in the postwar era, we were all moving unsentimentally towards the ‘‘white heat of technology”
Amidst this, Harrold Hall (which had been abandoned for thirty years apart from a stint as a prisoner of war camp in World War 2) was knocked down in 1961. Saint Nicholas was deconsecrated in 1975 and became a youth hostel in 1978; it still thrives in that role.
Although this was an industrial site, Harrold had become a middle-class commuter town hidden from the quarry by (7) the trees, so it had the look of a sleepy country village even though that wasn’t all it was.
On 30 June, 1968, The Beatles came here and gave the first ever performance of ‘Hey Jude’ in what Tony Bramwell called a “pretty little village”, and it had its share of Beatlemaniacs who appreciated what they saw.
In 1978, navigation of the river Great Ouse was reopened and two years later the country park began, with the same shelterbelt of trees (6) still here and anchoring the park and (2) the Silt Lake - the park is much loved, as is seen by the bustling friends of group and the work done when the bird hide burnt down in April 2012 and locals had replaced it within six months. The park is added to by (3) Carrie Yuen’s statues.
The shelterbelt you see in (7), to hide the singing villagers from the quarry, is still here and is now a path along which I walked through the country park. Linked with Bedford (where the river is still loved- hence the River Festival) and Bromham, I hope soon to walk all the way from my brother’s home in Bedford to here in an unbroken chain.

The World’s Tallest Living dog Is a Wonderful Dane Who Eats 12 Cups of Food Each Day
Zeus stays in the Dallas location with his household and also even shares a queen bed with his human sibling.
The humongous hond. The most significant boi. The biggest boy. It’s Zeus the Great Dane.
The 2-year-old is the highest living pet dog on the planet, according to Guinness Globe Records. He gauges a looming 3 feet, 5.18 inches, implying he could extremely well roam around the superficial end of swimming pools on all four legs.
” He’s been a large canine since we got him, even for a pup. He had huge paws,” his proprietor, Brittany Davis of Bedford, Texas, informed Guinness.
Davis received Zeus when he was 8 weeks old. These days, he delights in mosting likely to the Dallas Farmers Market (where “everybody recognizes him,” Davis says), taking strolls, and snoozing by his window. He also gets zoomies, which must be rather the view.

the dinner party
warnings: none, just sweet domestic George fluff since he doesn’t get enough written about him. Enjoy!
Tumblr media
A massive pot of boiling water sits on his stovetop steaming away. A few packets of pasta rest off to the side with the garlic, oil and lemon. You have never been more at peace, than cooking their favorite meal for the people you love. Dumping the spaghetti in the pot with a few handfuls of salt to flavor the water. You chop the cloves of garlic in a breeze, watching your beloved fiancé delicately set their kitchen table for six: the four boys, Carly and you. They’ve been on tour for ages and you know how they all eat whatever gross convenience store snacks they can find on the road and whatever the catering people decide to set up for them at the venue if they’re lucky meaning a total lack of home cooked meals. Tragic, you think.
You sigh contently and laugh as you watch the gentle giant debate which side forks go next to a plate. “Right side, Gorgeous. None of us are lefties.” You help the poor guy. Now checking the pasta, deeming it still a little too toothsome to eat. Letting the carbs boil away for a few more minutes. Getting out the special red wine and letting it come to room temp, you go next to him. Leaning into his side and resting your head more on his bicep. Breathing him in, amber, lilac and sandalwood fills your lungs. God, you will never get tired of how heavenly he smells.
“Hi, fiancé.” You beam at him, twisting the engagement ring around your finger to reveal the diamond.
“Hi, my love. Need anything?” He asks kindly, eyes dripping with fondness as he looks at you fiddling with the ring, his own band resting on his finger. You loved the way the gold gleamed off his skin tone. “Music, cheese board, blankets on the couch for later?” He runs through your regular hosting routine.
“Actually yeah, can you turn on that ambient music you made for the holidays? The one we had playing during the boxing day lunch?”
It being late January, you don’t think it is too late to still be playing the holiday dinner playlist. Nervously, fixing your jumper and smoothing out any wrinkles, flipping the ring back to hide it until later. Going back to check the pasta again, you do a happy dance - perfectly al dente! Hearing the music start gently, you call George over to drain the massive pot of pasta. Thanking him and then bringing it back to the stove and covering it to keep the heat in. They should be here any minute you think, checking the clock.
The doorbell rings and George greets Carly and Hann, taking the beautiful bouquet of flowers from her and going to grab a vase from their garage. The pair make their way up to the kitchen and greet you with a hug. Asking if they “could help with anything before the rest of the boys arrive?”, you say everything is settled. George comes up the steps, vase and flowers in a hand as he mumbles a “for you” and kisses your temple. Filling the vessel with fresh water and letting the flowers fall gracefully into place. Grabbing fresh wine glasses and pouring the four of you some, Adam and Carly take theirs with a thank you. Next to arrive is, Ross. “Matty should only be a few minutes behind me”, he says while handing over a tray of delicious looking brownies he made earlier. George steals one immediately knowing how his friend is the best baker of the group. The three friends run off to god knows where upstairs.
“George Bedford Daniel, don’t you go spoiling your appetite!” You say after him with a sigh, swearing sometimes you feel like a pre-school teacher trying to wrangle the lot of them.
Matty comes sweeping in, looking exasperated. “Sorry, love, traffic was brutal from my house. Forgot about rush hour.” He reasons. “Can I help with anything? Wheres the lads?”
“Up here, mate! George got an awesome new home studio all set up here!” Calls Ross from the stairs. Matty runs up yelling something back about him getting that new synth board yet. You shrug at Carly with a laugh. Deciding to finish the pasta, you uncover the pot and dump in the oil, chopped garlic, a squeeze of lemon and some parsley. Giving it a whirl and final taste test, you practically moan the food is so good.
The two of you plating it up, you call George and the guys back down. Carly goes to light some candles on the table and you set all the bowls down in their spots with the bottle of wine and some water.
The guys scarf down their food like teenage boys who haven’t eaten in months. “Unreal, Honey!” George praises, the rest of the group nodding in agreement as words like phenomenal, comforting and delicious are all thrown around. You beam towards George, seeing how how proud he is of his girl. How he got someone so wonderful and so able to fit into the four of them is unbelievable to him. He is the luckiest man ever, he thinks as he takes another forkful of the pasta and sip of wine.
“Well, guys.., we actually have a bit of news…” George begins, glancing at your hands. Carly giving you a knowing smile, her being among the first you told.
“We are engaged!” You cheer, revealing your ring to the group.
“Oh my god! Congrats mate, thats huge!!” the boys cheer as the six of you wrap in a group hug.
George mouths an “I Love You.”
You swoon. “I love you.”
He makes it too easy to love him, you think.
Oh how lucky he is to love her, he thinks.
