#polls are fun#and i like those that are made for entirely fun and random things#berliner/pfannkuchen/krapfen discourse or the sexyman tournaments and such#but something about the ones trying to figure out tumblr's demographic in a pseudo-sociological attempt at statistics#rub me up the wrong way. and i'm not sure if it's because of the 'methodology' -#because their options have all the complexity of early 2000s h*gwarts house tests asking for your favourite colour#and because sampling by reblogs is a sure-fire way for your sample to be biased as fuck -#or because we've been going on and on about how tumblr's anonymity is good and you can be a clown here and an astrophysicist IRL#and now there's polls asking for your age and educational degree and specific flavour of queerness/sexuality/gender and...#i don't know. it makes me uncomfortable. i can't put the reason in better words. maybe i'm also just a mistrustful grandma.#loquor
