I think this part explains quite well why Polin should come first in the series.

Benedict should still fall for Sophie at some point in this season, only for her to disappear through the rest of it. But this way we would get the perfect parallel between what Colin *thinks* falling in love is and what it *truly* is for him.

#bc. and I haven't read ben's novel yet. i think a big theme of aofag is about love in different social classes #but this part of love at first sight parallels perfectly with colin's slow falling #and having them happen simultaneously will have a bigger impact #than have that happen start of s3 (go through all that forbidden lovers thanks to class theme) to only then in s4 to draw a parallel #colin bridgerton #polin #season 3
