last night, i dreamt that i awoke surrounded by strangers claiming to be family and friends. from their demeanor it was clear that i had believed them for a long time. i fled, abandoning that life, that entire broken identity. i started a new life as an elementary school math teacher, teaching lessons in the produce aisle of a recently abandoned grocery store

Cool Hand Luke, 1967. A film with so many familiar character actors. I wrote to Robert Donner and Morgan Woodward And Harry Dean Stanton and they all sent me a signed picture. I sent Mr. Woodward a picture, to sign. I bought a photo signed by George Kennedy and one signed by Dennis Hopper.  I own an index card signed by Anthony Zerbe.

Ralph Waite as Alibi and Dennis Hopper as Babalugats in Cool Hand Luke (1967).  Ralph was born n White Plains, New York and had 87 acting credits in his career, from a 1954 tv episode as Host, then a 1966 tv episode, through 98 episodes of Days of Our Lives (2009-14) as Father Matt.  Ralph was also in Five Easy Pieces, the mini-series Roots, and 16 episodes of HBO's Carnivale as Rev. Balthus.  He is best known as the father of The Waltons on 196 episodes of the series (1972-81).
