DesertAir is a cargo charter airline for rural areas of Alaska. The airline is based in Anchorage out of Ted Stevens International Airport. It was founded in the 1990s, in Utah, and was initially engaged in the delivery of auto parts across the United States and Canada. Since 2001, the company has been based at Anchorage International Airport, and performs year-round charter air cargo transportation to more than 200 settlements throughout Alaska. The company's fleet consists of the legendary Douglas DC-3 aircraft. These aircraft have a large payload capacity, wide cargo doors and are able to take off and land on small dirt and gravel strips with a length of only 2,800 ft (855 m). In the conditions of Alaska, it is still an indispensable aircraft.

VARIG (acronym for Viação Aérea RIo-Grandense, Rio Grandean Airways) was the first airline registrated in Brazil. The company was founded on 7 May 1927, in Porto Alegre, by Otto Ernst Meyer-Labastille, a German aviator, who immigrated to Brazil in 1921. From 1965 until 1990, it was Brazil's leading airline and virtually its only international one. From 1997 to 2007, Varig was a member of the Star Alliance. In 2005, Varig went into restructuring, and in 2006 it was split into two companies. First from it – Flex Linhas Aéreas, informally known as "old" Varig, was heir to the original airline – now defunct. And second one – "new" Varig, is a new company, fully integrated into Gol Airlines.

Air France, stylised as AIRFRANCE, is the flag carrier of France headquartered in Tremblay-en-France. It is a founding member of the SkyTeam global airline alliance. The airline's global hub is at Charles de Gaulle Airport. Air France's corporate headquarters, previously in Montparnasse, Paris, are located on the grounds of Charles de Gaulle Airport, north of Paris. Air France was formed on 7 October 1933. On 21 January 1976, Air France operated its inaugural supersonic transport (SST) service on the Paris to Rio (via Dakar) route. Supersonic services from Paris to Washington Dulles International Airport began on 24 May 1976. Service to New York (JFK) – the only remaining Concorde service until its end – commenced on 22 November 1977. Paris to New York was flown in 3 hours 23 minutes, at about twice the speed of sound. Air France became one of only two airlines to regularly operate supersonic services, and continued daily transatlantic Concorde service until late May 2003.

IrAero is an airline based in Irkutsk, Russia. Its hubs airports are located in Irkutsk, Moscow and Magadan.
