Сегодня месяц, как с нами живут пятеро котят из приюта. Они с аппетитом едят корм, как сухой так и влажный, и благодаря этому смогли набрать два фунта! Это значит, что пора везти их на стерилизацию, и это означает расставание.

Приютским котятам очень рано делают стерилизацию, на 8-ой неделе. такой подход вызывает много споров, насколько это на самом деле рационально, но так как кошка может родить в шесть месяцев, то лучше уж заранее побеспокоиться. 

У нас только одна девочка, она очень внимательная и все время смотрит так, как будто знает про меня что-то шокирующее.

Набор веса - критически важный показатель здоровья котенка. Сколько он там съедает - неважно, важнее, сколько усваивается. Чтобы фиксировать и анализировать, мы каждый день взвешиваем котят, а результат записываем в личное дело каждого. 

После двух недель антибиотиков надо было каждому ежедневно подсыпать пробиотики в корм, следить, чтобы каждый съел. Отметки об этом тоже в личном деле. Статистика показывает, что месяц назад живой вес всех пятерых составлял 1,712 кг. На сегодня суммарный вес пурчащих пушистиков уже 4,86 кг! Прирост в три раза, товарищи! Ура!

Завтра очень важный день для них и для нас: мы везем их в приют, где согласно правилам, они и останутся, пока их не заберут в новые семьи. Из просторной комнаты с красивым видом им придется переехать в не��ольшой шумный вольер и там провести непонятно как долго. Сначала - второй раунд прививок, потом операция, потом ожидание тех людей, кто их заберет и полюбит.

Я спросила у врача, можно оставить малышам их любимые игрушки и пледик. Она сказала что да, конечно: сказали везти все, что помогает малышам чувствовать себя лучше и спокойнее. Я уже составила список любимых игрушек каждого котенка; они такие разные, но каждый забирает с собой кусочек моего сердца. Я делаю много фотографий и видео, потому что знаю, как сильно буду скучать по ним. 

Вчера подстригла коготочки каждому, предварительно завернув, как шаурму. Особо никто не возмущался, так что процедура прошла хорошо. Я не хочу, чтобы малыши царапали врачей и волонтеров.

К сожалению, из окружения друзей и знакомых не удалось найти никого, кто бы забрал котенка.

Hamster rescue! Peach came into Hamilton Animal Services as a “stray.” She spent a couple of weeks at the shelter and was not claimed by her owner. It’s more likely she was abandoned by her owner rather than being a true stray, so it was not shocking that nobody came forward for her. Either way, we were happy to get Peach out of the shelter and into a foster home. She now has a very large enclosure to explore, and she’s loving all the space. Peach has a vet visit coming up, and hopefully she’ll be healthy enough to start the search for her forever home after the appointment. Welcome to Ladybird, Peach!
