Decatur Micro Wedding by the Atlanta Wedding Photographers at Atlanta Artistic Weddings
This week the Atlanta Wedding photographers at Atlanta Artistic Weddings got to shoot an intimate micro wedding in Decatur for a great couple! The couple lived within walking distance to the Decatur Square, where you have the park and historic Decatur Courthouse. Their venue was centrally located to everything, which was awesome!
I started by taking photos of the guys while they were getting ready. They were working hard and the best man/ring bearer took his job very seriously. He knew exactly where the rings were and where he was going to keep them during the wedding to keep them safe. As you can see in the photo above, the best man made sure the groom’s collar and boutonniere were perfect. He wanted his groom to look good for the bride on this special day. This best man/ring bearer was a real pro and did a great job!
Then came the photos of the bride. She got ready at a hotel near the wedding location. This hotel is where the bride’s family was staying as well, so she had the love and support of family as she got ready for the wedding. The bride’s sister was right by her side and helped her to get in to the dress. The sister also helped with makeup and hair.
As I always say, my favorite weddings are the ones where the bride and groom make the wedding their own. This bride did not disappoint. After she put on the beautiful, classic, form-fitting mermaid cut dress, she put on her shoes. She chose comfort and style with some cool kicks that reflected the couple’s personality.
The ceremony took place at their community’s common area. They set up with a small group of chairs and had the wedding ceremony lit by candles. The candlelight was perfect for such a intimate wedding. The bride’s father walked her down the aisle to her fiancé. The guests who attended were all family and friends of the bride and grooms. The couple was truly surrounded by love!
After the ceremony, we took the family photos. Then, the couple and I took a quick walk to the Decatur Square where we took a few fun photos. They were such a fun and sweet couple. It was a great honor to be a small part of such a special day! Congrats Shaina and JL!

How Less Is More: Finding Tradition And Meaning In Elopements
The Atlanta wedding photographers at Atlanta Artistic Weddings have seen many kinds of weddings, especially after a year like this one. I’ve noticed that elopements especially have become more popular in the past couple of years and our photographers have shot a number of elopements. While this type of ceremony may not be what every couple imagines when thinking about their wedding, there are some really neat, unique aspects that can be incorporated into these simple, yet elegant, ceremonies to make them incredibly meaningful. After all, you’re still marrying the love of your life and you still have a reason to celebrate!
An elopement is usually a small ceremony conducted with just the couple, meaning almost no guests. However, that doesn’t mean that you have to give up all the special details that make a wedding day feel momentous. For instance, purchasing a designated wedding day outfit can not only help underscore the significance of the day, but it can make you feel special, as everyone should on their wedding day. A first look moment, first dance, and wedding vows are also beautiful touches you can include in your elopement to create a wonderful moment between you and your spouse.
Having a smaller guest list may not always be what you, or your loved ones, anticipated, but there are plenty of ways you can still surround yourself with your loved ones on your big day. Zoom and other video call platforms have become almost essential, making it so that everyone is just a click away, even when they may be across the country. By live streaming your wedding, your loved ones can still feel like a part of your big day, while also letting you and your spouse have an intimate ceremony where the focus is on the two of you.
The most important thing to remember with an elopement is that it is still a momentous occasion that should be celebrated! You can create keepsakes so that you can remember and mark the occasion, such as asking your family and friends to write letters and well wishes for you to read on the day and keep in a special box, or have someone take photos or video of special moments during the ceremony. You can also show these photos to loved ones who weren’t at the wedding. You can even still pick a beautiful location that’s special to you. It’s your day, so make it your own!
Elopements can still incorporate some heartfelt and meaningful traditions, while celebrating love as well! It may not be exactly what you imagined, but it is still a meaningful occasion you’ll want to remember for the rest of your life.
Thanks again for visiting our blog., and we hope you keep coming back to see what Atlanta Artistic Weddings is up to. Drop us a line on our website if you have questions, we’d love to hear from you!
Thanks again!

Atlanta Wedding Photographers Shoot Wedding at Greek Church
I am so blessed to be a Atlanta wedding photographer!  I get to meet so many wonderful people and learn about so many cultures in our great city.  This week I shot a wedding at Holy Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church located in Marietta just out side of Atlanta.  It is a wonderful church and the members, family and couple could not have been more gracious.  It was truly an honor to be their wedding photographer.
The bride wore a sleeveless cut Basque cut wedding dress.  The train on the dress was something to die for.  The train and long veil the bride choose complemented the dress.  The dress also had pockets!  When buying a wedding dress you may not think of pockets but they are good to have when you need them!  The dress also had some rough cut trim around the waist which gave the dress a little rock and roll edge to it.  The bride wore it well!
For the exit the bride choose a sparkler exit as you can see above.  I want to thank the couple for their patience during the wedding.  I also want to give a big shout out to my partner for the day Sara!  With out her help I would not have been able to get the shots you see here.
The Holy Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church is a beautiful church.  It has the painted dome that most Greek churches have.  The nave's detail was beautiful.  The painting on the dome was phenomenal.  The painting was rich in tradition of the Cathedrals of the past.
I have a deep appreciation of the Greek Orthodox Church.  The person who originally taught me photographer was a greek friend of my dads.  He was like a uncle to me growing up.  When ever I came home he would pick me up and just he and I would go out to breakfast together.  I will treasure those times forever.
Thank you so much for visiting.  The Atlanta wedding photographers here would love to hear from you.  Please drop us a line if you have any questions and we will be happy to help in any way that we can.
Thanks again!

Night, Rain, Sun or Shine We are Here for Your Wedding Photography!
What is the one thing you can not control on your wedding day......the weather. Usually I don't like using the "R" word (rain).  As a Atlanta wedding photographer I have shot at many venues through out the Atlanta area such as The Atlanta History Center, The Georgian Terrace, The Fox Theater, Whitlock Inn, Rhodes Hall and Naylor Hall.  The one thing all these places have in common is that they are professionals and they know what to do if it rains on your wedding day.
When I am shooting a wedding I leave a little room for the serendipity or the happy accidents that happen on your wedding day.  Sometimes they make for the best photos.  If not for the rain I would not have this romantic photo.  As a wedding photographer I love to challenge myself.  This photo was basically shot in the dark with a couple of remote flashes.  It was a relatively quick set up for such a dramatic photo.
Thanks for stopping by I would love to hear from you.  Please leave a comment or go to the comment section and drop me a line!
Thanks again!

Beale Street Wedding by Atlanta Wedding Photographer
Atlanta Artistic Weddings on Beale Street!
It is such an honor being a wedding photographer!  Recently I had the honor of shooting a wedding in Memphis, Tennessee.  It was a beautiful wedding and the reception was on top of the famous Peabody Hotel.  We did our photography at some of the more famous Memphis landmarks such as Mud Island, the Mississippi River, Parks and Beale Street.
For those who don't know the history of Memphis and Beale Street I will share with you some highlights.  Beale Street was created in 1841 by entrepreneur and developer Robertson Topp (1807–1876), who named it for a forgotten military hero. The original name was Beale Avenue. Its western end primarily housed shops of trade merchants, who traded goods with ships along the Mississippi River, while the eastern part developed as an affluent suburb. In the 1860s, many black traveling musicians began performing on Beale. The first of these to call Beale Street home were the Young Men's Brass Band, who were formed by Sam Thomas in 1867.
In 1909, W. C. Handy wrote "Mr. Crump" as a campaign song for political machine leader E. H. Crump. The song was later renamed "The Memphis Blues." Handy also wrote a song called "Beale Street Blues" in 1916 which influenced the change of the street's name from Beale Avenue to Beale Street. From the 1920s to the 1940s, Louis Armstrong, Muddy Waters, Albert King, Memphis Minnie, B. B. King, Rufus Thomas, Rosco Gordon and other blues and jazz legends played on Beale Street and helped develop the style known as Memphis Blues. As a young man, B. B. King was billed as "the Beale Street Blues Boy." One of Handy's proteges on Beale Street was the young Walter Furry Lewis, who later became a well known blues musician. In his later years Lewis lived near Fourth and Beale, and in 1969 was recorded there in his apartment by Memphis music producer Terry Manning.
This photograph was done on Beale Street in Memphis.  This bridal party was the best ever!!!  They were so cool even under the heat of Memphis.  You can tell by the photo thatthere is the usual Beale Street crowd.  As we were walking in the middle of the street we had plenty of clapping and cheers of "congrats!".  What a great way to start out your wedding!  Hand in had with friends and family with cheers from strangers.  I love the fact that this photos was taken at such a wonderful landmark of American history and American music!
Thank you so much for visiting.  I would love to hear from you.  Please go to www.AtlantaArtisticWeddings.com and drop me a line.  I promise to get back to you!
Thanks again!
