nick and tua get to the point eventually where even tho they still enjoy the work they do, they realize they enjoy it more so bc of their partnership

i was thinking abt it and rly its foreshadowed as early as 2288, when tua wasnt working for the agency but still saw nick regularly to chat or play chess?? bc what made those games so special in part was how evenly matched they were, how they both wielded equal passion for the game, and how ultimately they were challenging each other to be better players
