ICF SUP Worldcup Budapest / day one 🙌🏻 9km long distance race with beachstart (yeah!) and very windy and choppy conditions (not so yeah ;) I was super exited about the beachstart because I am usually better in beachstarts than in a standing starts, but I missed the start completely this time and saw the first group dissapearing already on the way to the first buoy. 🙈 so my race was already more less done at this point, because I am not able to close a big gap to the best of the best. I was catching up to my friends @damodara_m899 and @ondraas.p and was watching the battle in the front! I was wondering that @kaelan.lockhart (crazy good race! congrats!!!) did not do the swims at the bouys as he promised before, 😉😋🤣 so my spot on the 6th place was locked after ondra and damodara broke off our group in the heavy upwind part. @noic.garioud took the win, controlling the race with the confidence of a world champion. THE LEGEND OF OX 2022 day one / technical race! 🔥🔥🔥 70 male + 25 female paddlers in the seeding 😱 including some of the fastest paddlers in the world made the quarterfinals already look like finals in other races 🤯 I had to work hard in my quarterfinal already to go to the semi, the semifinal was packed with @oleschwarz @kraytor_andrey @manuellauble branislav sramek, @v_sajdy , @durchschlagmichael @a.portens , @saukoti and @petr.rohlena the semifinal heat took off like a final and between a lot of fights on the buoyturns and swimming lessons for many guys, I was the lucky one to go as 4rd behind ole, vojtech and brani and in front of andrey, manuel and pietr to the final. in the final it looked not so good for me at the first bouy... ranked 5th I was sitting in the wake of damodara on 4th, hermann on 3th, ole and normen were fighting hard for the first place, and on the last buoy of the first lap, normen went to the water and we overtook him. now sitting on 4th, still behind damodara and hermann I was charging my batteries and waiting for my chance. the chance came in the middle of round 2, when hermann and damodara were fighting on a buoyturn and I was able to pass both of them on the inside. #lakerocks sup festival day 2 / technical race! with 65 participants on the registration list, it was one of the biggest techrace-events I ever compete in! the course was a nice 2-lap sum. 1km racecourse with beachstart and a running transition in between the 2 laps. 🔥 I already learned in the first round (10 paddlers / 5 go to the next round) that everyone was training beachstarts in the winter 🚀 so I finished 3rd to advance to the quarterfinal. I was more focused in the quarterfinal and semifinal and could win both heats to go to the final with the best 10 paddlers. the semifinal was already packed with fast paddlers and some very tight fights were shown by the athletes.
