there's something bouncing around in my brain about how elizabeth loves all three of them but she's only ever wanted to be will's wife. elizabeth turner is an identity that suits her in a way that "mrs. commodore" never did.

#ooc. ⟊⚔⟊ || : no need to expose your superstructure!#marrying jack is itself self-defeating because she loves the freedom and lack of propriety and lack of Anchorage.#as well as being just. yknow. an all around stupid choice to become his wife.#like. the love quadrangle is partially a romantic choice but it's more importantly an identity choice.#as much as she loves james there's a certain Order of Things with being the wife of a respected navy officer that does not allow for the #girl who loves reading pirate stories.#i do believe will puts her on an idealized pedestal which leads to some problems later so i won't say #being his wife is equivalent to being Herself but. it's something closer.#there's a reason 'elizabeth turner' slipped off her tongue it's so natural to her.
