I Miss Your Stupid Face
Characters: Armitage Hux x reader
Summary: He messed up. He knows that he has really messed everything up, but can he catch you to make a very rare apology before you head off on your latest mission, or will he be too late?
Word Count: 1515 words
Tumblr media
As he stared out into the darkness of space, his face was void of all emotion. Anyone observing might have mistaken him for a droid, there was no indication or any hint of humanity in the figure staring at the spot which your fleet had disappeared into hyperdrive from. The last place he had been able to see you. Well, not exactly see you, because you were in the ship and he was here but… that was the spot you had existed in before leaving him forever.
It had been such a short amount of time since your departure, but Armitage missed you. He guessed he should get used to that though, since you were disgusted with him. How could you not be? He was disgusted with himself. He had been so stubborn and stupid. It had been foolish to open himself up, to trust you. Foolish to believe he was worthy of love, after all, his own father couldn’t love him, so how could someone as wonderful as you?
It had been easy to fool himself, easy to hope that it was true because you had made it easy. After his accidental confession, he had found himself at the door to your quarters at some unsociable hour, somehow plucking up the courage to let you know that the ‘she’ in question was, in fact, ‘you’. This had led to shared meals, both in the canteen where you sat opposite each other and kept a professional distance, and in his quarters where food was often forgotten, and stolen kisses turned into passionate embraces on his sofa.
Armitage had insisted that this budding relationship needed to be kept hidden, fearing that Ren would use you against him in any way he could. So, most of your interactions were firmly behind closed doors and he had almost perfected his passive expression whenever your paths crossed while working. Almost. And that is where the problems originated.
Ren had been watching the situation with a blend of curiosity and amusement. The idea that Hux believed he could hide those little thoughts of you that drifted to the forefront of his mind was laughable. The General practically radiated his feelings for you, and Ren decided to use this information to his own advantage. After all, torturing Hux was so much fun.
“I think we need to address fraternization on base once more.” Ren said as he stopped behind Hux on the bridge. “It is causing… distractions.”
“Distractions? I believe productivity and focus has never been so high. I have not seen any indication that there are ‘distractions’.” Hux clenched his jaw, fighting back any thoughts of you in his mind.
“That is because you are distracted, General. I understand that a physical release is required, some way to vent frustrations, but once emotions are involved, that is when it becomes dangerous. Whatever arrangement the two of you have, you and your Captain, you are the one who has caught feelings. Feelings lead to distraction.” Ren warned, smirking beneath his helmet as he spotted you approaching from behind Hux.
“She is not a ‘distraction’. I have no ‘feelings’ for the girl, it is a mutually beneficial physical arrangement, nothing more. She is good at her job and an adequate partner in the bedroom. You have your paramours, allow me mine. My focus is as sharp as ever. Do you really think someone like her could turn my head? Could steal my attention from The Order?”
“So, she simply warms your bed?” Ren asked, raising his eyebrow he watched your expression as you paused, awaiting his answer rather than interrupting the conversation.
“Nothing more.” Hux confirmed with a smug smile, feeling he had fooled Ren into believing him.
You blinked a few times before nodding to yourself and turning to leave. Ren was sending you with a small fleet to deal with a incursion on the outer rim and it had been your intention to say farewell to Armitage, believing that your relationship was more than just a physical release. Now him wanting to keep things secret made so much more sense, and you felt like you had just been punched in the stomach.
Ren waited until he was certain you had gone before shrugging. “Was she aware of that? She seemed rather upset when she heard you define your arrangement in such terms.”
“What?” Hux’s face drained of all colour as he looked around for you.
“I assume the Captain was coming to inform you that she is leaving on her mission. She caught the tail end of our conversation and chose to exit rather than interrupt.”
“Excuse me.” Hux strode from the bridge, he had to get to the docking bay, needed to explain.
His heart pounded as he broke into a run, not caring how desperate it made him look. He needed to get to you, needed to explain that he hadn’t meant any of it, that he was trying to protect you. His boots screeched as he skidded around a corner, a group of Storm Troopers pressing themselves against the wall to allow him to pass. Armitage didn’t even break his stride, not caring what they thought of him, the only person who mattered to him was about to leave and he had to stop that from happening. You couldn’t go while thinking he didn’t care for you, that this had all been an act.
Careening into the docking bay, he screamed out to stop the ship. People jumped at his order, scrambling to try and prevent the launch, but it was too late. Armitage had to stand there and watch your ship speed away. Frantically, he looked around, trying to find a way to get to you. He grabbed a transmitter, rushing over to get a better view, to make sure you were still in sight.
“Captain. Captain! This is your General. Captain, answer your comms.” He barked, his frustration boiling over, his fear coming out as anger. As the silence lengthened, his shoulders slumped and he whispered, “please.”
“General.” Your voice was tight and he knew you were incredibly hurt, but he couldn’t help smiling at the sound of your voice.
“Turn the ship around. I need you to return to base.”
“Is that an order, General, or a request?” There was something in the way you had spat his title that had his brow furrowing. If he told you, it was an order then that would be abusing his position, but that might be the only way to get you in front of him. He was about to tell you that it was indeed an order, but then he realised that would just reinforce what you already thought of him.
“It was a request, darling. Please. I am not asking this as your General, I’m asking this as your… as a man who is incredibly bad at relationships. A man who is navigating unfamiliar territory with all these feelings and I have made a mistake, I do make mistakes, and I probably will continue to make new and different mistakes in the future. I know that I hurt you, that was never my intention. I would rather have my face ripped off by a Wookie than cause you a single moment of pain. Please, don’t leave me.” He stared at the ship which was still moving away from him. The vulnerability in his voice had everyone around him frozen, watching with bated breath because there was a chance that anyone standing near Hux was about to have the weight of his heartbreak focused on them, and nobody wanted to be that guy.
“General, I-“ The communication was broken off as your ship slipped into hyperdrive, taking you out of the range of his comm unit.
A hollow feeling spread through him, heat rising in his cheeks, the familiar pain of humiliation washing over him. How could he have been so naïve to tell you so openly how he felt? Not only that, but so publicly! Everyone had heard his declaration, and your response, or lack of. He knew that confession would leave him defenseless, but part of him had believed you would be there to catch him, now he had nothing but the cruel sting of rejection to contend with.
And so, he stood there, staring at the spot in the darkness that had stolen his chance at happiness from him. If the universe were perfect then you would be here in his embrace, listening to his apologies and reassuring him with your sweet kisses. Armitage realised that he would never get to kiss you again, that he had been robbed of a final parting kiss, that the last time his lips had found yours had been far too brief. If he had known that would be the last time he could kiss you then he would have ensured it lasted an eternity, that he had poured every emotion he felt for you into it, but that was not to be. Instead, he would spend the rest of his life just missing your stupid face.

That new Mandalorian episode hit so well!!!
Spoilers ahead!!!
First off, seeing where Moff Gideon was hiding, I called it! I pretty much at the start thought he would hide where Mandalore was.
Second.... Rest in piece Paz... I am upset he is gone.... Yet, what he did to made me have some hope... The praetorian guards return!!
Third. . . . OMG LOOK!!! When Moff Gideon was talking to more empire people, one being Armitage Hux's father: Brendol Hux!!!
Now if you do not know who Armitage Hux is he is General Hux from the Sequel Trilogy! In the Mandalorian they show his father talking about cloning!!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Like I love how this is slowly connecting to the sequel trilogy!! I needed this so much, sure I am sad that Paz has died. . . I still have not fully recovered from the loss....
Yet, showing that Hux's father was connected to maybe the making of Snoke and other Palpatine makes the story so much more interesting.
Also hearing about them looking for Thrawn and hearing rumors about him, this is obviously taking place around the time Ahsoka is then!
Then having the praetorian guards back is actually scary! Like, they were hard to fight and they served Palpatine . . . Then hearing plans of cloning is what Hux's father wants is actually awesome in a scary way!
Sorry, I am just excited with seeing this all connect the sequel trilogy more and now even more excited for Ahsoka to come out!
Now, when can I see baby Ben Solo?!

Chapter 7
Now that he was complying, she kept her distance while he kept track of the days to work towards his goal of clearing his name. But the more effort he put into his work, the more recognition he got. He was validated for his brilliant mind here and it only took him being earnest. It didn’t require his energy to scheme or outwit someone, everyone could see it or maybe it was only now he was seeing it for himself. Just like Marjorie had said that night.
He had hidden it away for too long, that sweet boy who had bright eyes, he had been lost because of his father but what Hux didn’t know was that just a few days in the sun meant he could feel like his old self again. He didn’t need to fear anyone, he spoke his mind and slowly Leia and Marjorie’s grandmother had grown to be like the mothers he had lost.
The rebels were still divided on their opinion about him but the there was mutual respect now. The days had begun to feel lighter and the nights were the sweetest because he got to be who he was, truly own his strengths and plot strategies to help people instead of destroying civilizations all for the need for power. But the nights were also when she spoke to him. Her words had begun to take root in his heart. That he could make a difference if he wanted to, that if he tried he didn’t have to be like his father, that he was good and strong for having survived a tyrant all on his own, when he had just been a child.
Those words girded him up, because all his father ever believed in him was that he was born too weak. But now he was strong, he was good and he just needed someone to show it to him. All the great bits came to a stand still when he had lost his cool and had almost hit a young chap for messing up the wiring before he caught himself only that Marjorie had seen it and that made shame fill his system.
He yearned for her voice or her glance, her teasing remarks, he wanted to say sorry but he didn’t know how. He wanted to show her that although it was nothing, he had begun to feel different here.
With every waking moment, he understood why the first order has its flaws and why it was wrong. He didn’t have to focus on concealing his thoughts here. Ren or Snoke weren’t around to bully him about. It was the end of the second week and he could tell she was still disappointed with him. Without his knowledge, he had begun to consider her a friend, waiting till the day ended so he could tell her his musings, so this distance she was meticulous with maintaining was driving him insane.
Marjorie had her work cut out for her, she didn’t have to monitor him and so was free for missions again. Supply crates had to be dropped off to a nearby planet which was monitored by First Order regiments. She had missed it, being where the action was but having finished the task triumphantly, she headed back to base when the tie fighter shots she thought she evaded had actually punctured the hull. She diverted the fuel just in time so she wouldn’t burn up during re-entry and managed to land it but just when the craft came to a stop, the engine huffed up smoke and her seatbelt wasn’t willing to budge. Jammed into the side, the ejection lever wasn’t working, trapping her within the cockpit as the flames began to pick up.
“Where is she?”, she could here muffled shouts but the smoke had worked it’s way into the compartment. She beat her hands against the glass unable to see anyone. The air turned heavy making it hard for her to breathe when she saw a silhouette of a person climbing onto the hull over the burning engine. Jamming a crowbar into the side of the glass cover, this person got it open. But even as her vision blurred she could never not recognize that flaming hair.
“Hux.”, she called for him only to cough up because of the smoke but he had already thought through everything. Taking the pliers he held in his mouth he cut through the seat belt, freeing her but his eyes were frantic and what she didn’t expect was his hands reaching out to her to pull her up.
“Hold on to me.”, he instructed her as he held her close getting down to solid ground. The medics surrounded her but having been scared she reached out to him, the only face she recognized around in the chaos and he caught it without hesitation. The oxygen mask was put on and it stabilized her breathing but as she gasped for air, he was right by her side with never before seen vulnerability maared across his features. And with just how fast it had begun it ended. She was taken away to the med bay and he let her go.
The doctor did his final round of checks before she was cleared to go home. Marjorie pushed through the door to an almost empty corridor expect for a man who was sitting outside, his long limbs stretched out across the floor, his hands cradling his head as his wildfire hair was let loose in a mess.
“You didn’t have to be here.”, she said rubbing her sore head but the moment he heard her voice, he woke up, his apple green eyes filling with relief as he saw her. His gaze roamed over her body in search of bandages as he got closer, his soft fingers touching the scratch on her forehead.
“I will need to have any vehicle you board, checked and prepared before you leave.”, he spoke with all authority.
“That’s too much of a fuss.”, she let his worry cascade over her as he turned her wrists and tilted her chin as though he didn’t trust the doctor’s work.
“Safety is no small matter.”, he finally met her eyes and she could draw up a possible conclusion for his sudden change in demeanor.
“If something were to happen to you.”, his eyes were wide with concern but she knew it was for an entirely different reason.
“You will not be able to get out.”, she finished his sentence and he pursed his lips. That’s not, he wasn’t remotely thinking about leaving in this moment.
“I need to get home, I’m sure Aachi is extremely worried.”, she mumbled. Her legs still felt sore from when she was stuck in the jammed seat and the minor burns on her skin still stinged.
“She’s alright. I told her I will return home with you.”, he explained.
Home.
“She’s also made dinner for us.”, he held out his arm for her to hold on having observed her limp.
Us.
He was a whole new person. She folded her arms fixing him with her gaze.
“Best curry in the galaxy remember.”, his eyes glimmered and she wasn’t sure what had come over him. But instead of wasting this moment to figure out this puzzle, she took his support and headed home.
“I was worried. I couldn’t bring myself to think of the worst.”, her grandmother met her half way as soon as they entered.
“It was nothing, just a minor malfunction.”, she lied knowing how she felt in that moment. Alone and afraid.
“Can’t you take up work here on the base?”, she continued and Hux could now discern the worry in the old lady’s voice.
“Tabitha, you know how much she loves the sky.”, he intervened knowing well enough her attention was burning through him.
“We can’t keep people where they don’t want to be.”, he saw her as he said it and it reinforced the fact that all his niceness was only because she was his ticket out of this place.
“Now I’ll make sure she eats but you need to get to bed.”, he got Marjorie to sit down before he led her grandma away. She was more shocked about this rather than the accident.
He emerged and now that she observed him again, there was a spring in his step, he was more radiant than last and now he …. Wait he had just smiled at her. Voluntarily.
She was certain the smoke had affected her brain causing her to hallucinate. He brought her a plate with her favorite spread of food, placing it in her hands, he inspected the bandage on her forehead than needed to be changed.
“Are you drunk?”, she asked tentatively. He paused to sit back and contemplate her question.
“Why would you ask that?”, he asked as he made himself comfortable on the couch.
“No you just seem more at ease.”, she began to eat and it felt nice, not to have to sit by herself at the end of the day.
“I missed this.”, he said softly and all she could do was hum in response.
“Why won’t you speak to me?”, he asked quickly, now she twisted as she sat because the pretext was she had been angry with him but the truth was she was growing fond of him, of having him around all while she knew how this was going to end.
“I do speak to you.”, she evaded the question moving away from the lounge room to put aside her plate and wash it. He joined her by the sink.
“No, you have kept your distance from me and I don’t know how to fix it.”, he didn't let her change the subject.
“Am I doing it wrong? All this care and concern, I didn’t have to worry about it before. Worry about someone else.”, he ran his fingers through his hair in frustration.
She stopped having heard his response but couldn’t quite brave it to look at him, because when he was caring, she didn’t want him to stop. His innocence still burned within him, waiting to be set free and she wasn’t sure if she was the one to do it. But the sound of his heart beat resounded in her ears, like a mockinbird beating within a cage it was not meant to be in. So would it be alright if she were the one to set it free?
She looked at him, his face didn’t hold the scowl anymore but rather searching eyes that wandered over her face in search for signs of hope.
“No. You’re doing well.”, she said clearing her throat.
“It is good we have boundaries, isn’t it?”, she nodded her head finding words to let him know gently, of the thoughts that weighed her down.
“You’re not technically here to stay.”, Marjorie said softly.
“And what if I want to?”, he asked and she huffed unable to believe that he would want to.
How could he change his entire ideology that he grew up on in a matter of few days?
“Then what of your dreams?”, she proded him but his hurt expression let her know that she had been harsh.
“What of your cat?”, she smiled easing the tension between them.
“Leave Millicent to me.”, he spoke softly like she could believe his words and forget about having to survive, not having to overthink of every outcome to every decision.
“What do you want?”, he asked, his fingers gently tucking the stray strands of hair behind her ear. In the quite cover of the night, she blessed her tan skin that hid the blush on her cheeks but clutched her chest afraid he could hear her beating heart.
“Whatever it is that you want.”, she froze under his touch, hating the way the sound of his words brought about this reaction.
“You know everything about me, do you not?”, he slowly tilted her face so that she would see him.
“Your past, yes, but I cannot know your thoughts for the future.”, her brows furrowed as his eyes bore into hers, but she felt her cheeks grow warmer when she caught his gaze slip down to her lips. His touch burning its mark on her skin that she will remember forever.
“Then let me tell you.”, he whispered leaning closer but she turned away. This was a trance, nothing more.
“Hux”, she looked at the open tap, bracing herself on the counter.
“Armitage.”, he corrected her but she could not get attached. She didn’t say his name.
“You and I are from different worlds, we cannot cheat time. At some point it will divide us.”, she spoke to him. It was a fact and facts were never wrong.
“You truly wish for me to leave.”, he demanded following her. He wanted to leave from the very beginning, he wanted grand schemes that would drive him to frustration if he was held back and that regret would be caused by her, for not letting him follow his dreams. She didn’t have the energy to explain it all.
“I want you to be happy.”, she said finally washing her hands as she began to put away containers in the kitchen.
Keep yourself busy, a thought passed through her mind.
“I am.”, his voice rose with desperation. She could feel his heaving breath and the conviction with which he said it.
“when I’m with you.”, now this was softer, like the streams in the woods pulling her towards him.
She continued to work through the dishes in the sink when he got closer to her, picking up a cloth to help dry the plates, as though this was their little routine.
“Thank you.”, she said as they stood in a silence that was rather loud with unsaid feelings.
“For saving me.”, she admitted because if he hadn’t shown up in time she would not be standing here.
“It was first time I reacted, instead of standing by to watch, instead of running away.”, he responded almost as if he was choosing his words.
“Something took a hold of me.”, he continued she could hear the words catch in his throat.
“I couldn’t let you die.”, he said with a brokenness she could feel.
Astonishing, the very man who destroyed planets and had no mercy as he climbed up to claim his power, was unable to do the very thing he had been doing so far.
She could only give him a curt nod in response to his statement because her words would convey to him the very thing she was trying to hide, all these thoughts about him.
“I thought I would never feel it again.”, he gently took her hands in his to dry them.
“the fear of losing someone.”, he gulped and she could feel the overwhelming need to sit down.
“I care about.”, he said and she stepped closer, unable to figure out what he wanted.
“I don’t want to lose this friendship.” He admitted.
She let out the breath she had held, she was the one interpreting this all wrong. He was very clear and here she was hoping and worrying for nothing.
He was only now discovering the right to his emotions and in such a state manipulating him into thinking he wanted more in a relationship would only led him to hate her. So she would have to wait until he made sense of it on his own or maybe accept the fact that he never will.
Instead she eased him, for the progress he had made so far, no one would believe he was the same man as before, with his black uniform and deadly stare. The bags underneath his eyes had vanished and looked so much more younger. He let his hair grow out and put on a bit of muscle with all the work he had been doing.
She slipped her hands under his arms and engulfed him in a soft hug. His body solid under her touch, her cheek resting on his chest, his healthy heart beating much faster now. She closed her eyes and stayed there, in this comfort, in his warmth, if she asked him to stay would he give up his plans for her?
Unfortunate events bringing together the most unfortunate people, she felt his arms wrap around her, his head resting on hers just as she had dreamed about the day she had brought him here. His hold tightened on her before he swayed softly, she laughed, looking up at him. She didn't know he had it in him to dance.
“I have this song stuck in my head. The one Tabitha keeps playing.”, he told her.
The song was her grandmother’s favourite, the one that had played at her wedding. It was in Marjorie’s native tongue, a language now only a few knew.
“How does it go?”, she asked him, swaying in his arms. He took a moment to think before he began to hum it. She sang the words and watched as his face lit up, the corners of his eyes creasing in a wondrous smile. He had to heal first, before he could start to love.
He took her hand in his and rested the other on her waist as he danced, he had forgotten how to do it, but the beauty was in the imperfection, in creating a new memory that wasn't tainted by the pain of his past.
He didn’t want to leave, he didn’t want to go back to a life that was so devoid of colour when all he had ever dreamed of was right here, in his arms.

I Love Your Stupid Face
Characters: Armitage Hux x reader
Summary: Upon returning from your mission, Hux has had the time to really twist himself into knots over your last interaction. Has he really lost any chance he ever had of finding someone who could possibly like him, or are you more of a surprise than he ever anticipated?
Word Count: 1476 words
Tumblr media
The silence had been deafening. The only communication from your mission had been reports back, and any from you were in writing. He had not heard your voice in what felt like a lifetime, and he wasn’t sure he could survive actually facing you after his humiliation. That moment played in his mind on a loop, especially in the darkness when he was supposed to find sleep, but not even that provided an escape.
Hux had watched your ship return from the viewing port. He couldn’t bring himself to head down to the hanger and actually see you, he knew you would try to let him down gently, but hearing a definitive rejection was something he wanted to avoid for as long as he could manage. So, he took a page from the Kylo Ren way of dealing with things, in that he didn’t.
For the next few days, whenever you entered a room Hux exited. Was it the most mature response, of course not, but he had convinced himself that if he didn’t see you then you couldn’t break him. At least, brake him more than he already was.
The door to his office opened and closed causing Armitage to let out a deep sigh. “Phasma, I really am not in the mood.” He scowled and looked up at the lack of response from his friend. When he saw you standing there, he jumped up from his chair, his heart pounding as his fight or flight responses kicked in.
“What are you doing here?” His eyes darted around the room, trying desperately to find an escape route, but you had effectively pinned him to the spot.
“Why do you keep running away from me?” He could see the confusion and hurt in your eyes, and he bristled. What right did you have to make him feel sorry for you, when it was you who was chasing him down to stomp on the shattered pieces of his broken heart.
“I didn’t run away!” He frowned, his nose scrunching a little. This denial only earned him a raised eyebrow from you, and he shifted his feet as he clasped his hands behind his back. “It was… it was a strategic retreat.”
You took a step towards him, and he instinctively stepped back. If he let you nearer, if you closed this physical gap between the two of you, then you would see how red his eyes were, the dark circles beneath, how much paler and gaunt his face was after your absence.
“We need to talk.” Those four words caused his bottom lip to quiver. He clenched his jaw and stood a little straighter, he couldn’t let you see how much you affected him.
“What is there to talk about? It’s over – I ruined it.” He stated simply, his voice void of any emotion. That should be enough for you to leave. He prayed it was enough for you to leave because he was barely holding himself together.
“Are you sorry for what you said? I mean, what you said about me to Ren?”
“Well, yes. Of course I’m sorry but-“
“Then I forgive you.” There was a beat of silence as Armitage tried to process your words.
“No, no, don’t forgive me! Why would you do that? Why give me another chance to mess things up?” His eyes were filled with confusion, what was this new torture?
“I love you, Armitage.”
“You what?” His voice was little more than a whisper as he stared at you in total incomprehension. Those words had his head spinning. This was not how he had imagined this interaction. You were supposed to be yelling at him, hurling insults and berating him. You should be confirming all the things he believed were his failings, not telling him that you love him! How was he supposed to react to that?
“I tried to tell you, but the comms broke up, and then I realised it was something I needed to tell you face to face. I couldn’t trust myself not to just blurt it out so I kept communication to the mission, kept it written down. I was hurt by what you said to Ren, but I’ve had a lot of time to think about it, about us, and I love you.”
Cautiously, you approached him, fearing he might very well just bolt from the room. Reaching out, you took his hand, which had fallen limp by his side. Bringing your other hand up, you tenderly brushed your fingers against his cheek, frowning slightly as he flinched.
Armitage stood frozen to the spot, his jaw had grown slack and his eyes wide which made him look so young and innocent. How did you not hate him for what he had done? HE hated himself for it. He hated himself so much for causing you even a second of pain, for allowing you to believe that you were not his everything. But, if you didn’t hate him then how could he hate himself? You were the person he had wronged, and you had brushed it aside and shown him understanding and acceptance. This was an entirely alien experience to Hux, and his internal systems seemed to have gone into panic mode. This must be a trap. You were going to hurt him any moment. Weren’t you?
“Armitage, sweetheart, talk to me. What’s going on in that amazing mind of yours.” You whispered, your eyes searching his.
He opened his mouth to speak, but found himself getting lost in your gaze. All thoughts of you hurting him seemed to melt away, but perhaps that was why he needed you, you shattered all his fears; the fear he wasn’t good enough, the fear he would always be alone, the fear that he was unlovable. He had made a mistake and yet you were still right there, your touch so tender and warm. If someone like you could love him, then perhaps there was something redeemable about him.
“You do realise that it is entirely ridiculous to want to be with me, right?” There was a hint of amusement in his tone, but the fear in his eyes showed just how much reassurance he needed.
“I do, but I’m willing to give it a go, if you are.” You tilted your head, a soft smile on your lips.
“Are you sure you don’t want to give up on me?”
“You can be such a moron.” You laughed, shaking your head. “I am sure that I don’t want to give up on you.”
“You really think we could work? This will not be the last time I mess things up. Are you sure you want to forgive me?”
“If I mess up, will you forgive me?”
“Of course.” He said far too quickly with a look of incredulity. How could you even ask that?
“Then, I guess, that means we are a couple.” You smirked, waiting for that idea to finally settle into his mind.
“Are you smirking?” He raised an eyebrow as amusement danced in his eyes, his arms coming to rest around you, his thumb rubbing circles on your lower back.
“I think I’ve earned it, don’t you?”
“Why do I feel like you are laughing at me?” he pouted playfully.
“Because you find it difficult to believe that I am just incredibly happy to be here in your arms?” You hummed as your lips found his, and finally Armitage felt like he could breathe.
Hux felt himself relax, pulling you closer as if he was afraid this was all just a dream. You were so warm and caring, and he was so cold and uptight, the pairing really should not work but somehow you fit. You brightened his world, and he could only hope you felt that way about him. This was not something he thought he could ever have, wasn’t something he had gone in search of, had been the subject of many nightmares if he were honest, but he couldn’t imagine his life without you by his side.
“I love you.” He murmured softly as he nuzzled your nose. Releasing those words brought a goofy smile to his lips and he felt like his entire being was fizzing with happiness.
“Right, well, I think you need to eat something and get a good nights rest. You look like you haven’t slept for eons, Armitage.” You playfully chided, causing him to chuckle.
“We can get some food, but I am not sure how much sleep I will manage. Perhaps you should spend the night, just to keep an eye on me?”
“Maybe I should spend every night.”
“I think that might be best.” He smiled before capturing your lips in a soft, sensual kiss. This was something he could definitely get used to, and he had no intention of ever letting you go.

Smooth Talker Part 2
Poe Dameron x Reader
Tumblr media
Masterlist - Part 1 - Join My Taglist!
Requested on Wattpad! I normally don't do Part 2 requests, but an idea for this one popped immediately into my head and I couldn't let it go :)
Summary: Through a truly ridiculous series of events, you've managed to become a *triple* agent for the Resistance, being sent back to your original base by the First Order as a trusted spy after spending time as a Resistance spy in First Order territory. You can't wait to be back home, and even better, to tell your boyfriend Poe Dameron just what level of bs you managed to pull off.

I tried to keep a smile off my face as I stood, back straight and hands behind my back, facing General Armitage Hux. He'd been my main point of contact for the past few months after he'd been the one to recruit me as a First Order spy, and the fact that I hadn't laughed in his face a single time that he'd been telling me all about what being a spy would entail was a true testament to my skills.
I'd been undercover for the Resitance deep in First Order territory when he'd come knocking with a bunch of soldiers because he suspected my apartment was a hideout for Resistance sympathizers and activity. And, to be fair, he was right. Poe Dameron, my boyfriend, had snuck in for a rare visit and left literal minutes before Hux and his friends showed up. But I'd done such a good job answering their interrogation questions that, instead of arresting me, they'd recruited me.
Now, after months of preparing, I was being sent on my way to find and infiltrate the Resistance's base. I'd need to be careful not to blow my true allegiances, but once I got out of range of the First Order and was only expected to make occasional reports, I couldn't help thinking this would be my easiest assignment yet.
"Are we clear on communication protocols and the kind of information we're most interested in?" asked Hux as I tuned back in to the end of his lecture. I nodded once, curtly.
"Yes sir."
"Good. Then best of luck to you. You're doing your Order a great service."
I saluted, fast and sharp, exemplifying the unshakeable, blind commitment they looked for in their recruits. I held it for a few moments, then Hux nodded and I let my hand fall back to my side.
"I look forward to hearing what you have to report."
The march through the rest of the ship felt like a dream. I was being dropped fairly far from anywhere the First Order suspected of being a Resistance base to make sure no one would be suspicious of me, but I was still closer to home than I'd been in a long, long time. I could swear I felt the latent tension of the past six months ease out of my shoulders as I watched the ship disappear without me on it.
I took a moment to enjoy the feeling, then quickly got my head back in the game. There was still a chance, however slim, that Hux was playing me. If I wasn't careful, I could accidentally lead the First Order right back to the Resistance base they'd spent so long looking for.
I spent the next week doing my due diligence, making sure no one was following me and that I didn't have a tracker on me anywhere that I didn't know about. I sent a brief update to Hux through the convoluted method we'd come up with for contact, telling him that I had a lead and was going to follow up on it, and then I finally started the trek home.
When the entrance to the Resistance base finally came into view another full week and change later, my heart leapt. It was vital to my cover that I didn't let myself dwell on how much I'd missed this place while living among First Order personnel, but now that I was finally safe, I almost starting crying at the sight of it. I hadn't really realized how badly I'd wanted to be back here until now.
I walked the rest of the way up with a massive smile on my face, scanning the crowd for anybody I recognized. I got some strange looks, largely from newer recruits who didn't know me, but then finally I found one of the people I was most hoping to see.
Poe Dameron stood just across the hanger with his back to me. I grinned and started walking towards him with purpose, and after a moment, the person he was talking to noticed me and pointed over Poe's shoulder. Poe turned around with a frown that quickly changed into a confused but beaming smile, then started rushing towards me. I sped up too, until we were running towards each other across the hanger. As soon as I got in reach, Poe picked me up and spun me around in a tight hug, then set me back on the ground only to pull me into a searing kiss. I kissed him back just as hard, wrapping my arms around his shoulders and tangling my hands in his hair. I ended up breaking the kiss as a joyful laugh bubbled out of me; finally we were together without the looming threat of a First Order solider at the door ruining the moment.
"What... what are you doing here?" he asked, still smiling and completely breathless. I laughed again, joy overflowing in my chest as I looked at the man I loved.
"You'll absolutely never believe it," I said with a crooked smile. He raised an eyebrow at me, so I continued. "I've been recruited as a spy for the First Order."
"...You what?"
I laughed as Poe stared at me, brow furrowed as he tried to figure out what was happening. I couldn't exactly blame him–I still wasn't totally sure how I'd managed to get here.
"It's the craziest story you'll ever hear, and I promise to tell you every last detail later tonight. But right now, I should really go and see Leia."
"Now hold on a minute," Poe said, grabbing my waist and pulling me a little tighter to him. As if I'd be moving away from him voluntarily any time soon. "You have to give me a little more than that, first."
I smiled. "Okay, but you have to promise not to freak out when I tell you the first part."
Poe frowned, looking incredibly nervous, but nodded anyway.
"Alright..."
"So remember the last time I saw you, when you visited me in the apartment where I was hiding out to spy on the First Order? Well that same night, right after you left, General Hux and Kylo Ren themselves came knocking with a whole host of troopers at their backs."
"They WHAT?"
"You said you wouldn't freak out! Just listen."
I could see Poe practically vibrating and fuming with delayed panic and about a thousand questions, but to his credit, he managed to hold them back with nothing more than slightly tightening his grip on my waist.
"Well, they asked me a bunch of questions because they thought a Resistance spy base was operating out of my apartment-" Poe winced, but I ignored him and kept going. "-and I answered the questions well enough that they decided I was clearly a loyal member of the First Order with a passion for them and their rule. So, instead of arresting me, they recruited me to be a spy! Of course I said yes, and now I'm here as a triple agent, so I can feed them a bunch of bad information, or information that comes just a little too late for them to do anything about it while still being correct, all while being here again, on base with you and everybody else."
Poe huffed a disbelieving laugh, just staring and blinking at me for a few moments while he processed. Then a smile spread across his face again, even as he shook his head.
"That is... incredible. I can think of about a thousand other things I could say about it too, but... just wow."
"I know," I said with a grin. I stepped back slightly out of his embrace, then took his hand instead. At some point we would have to go do separate activities on base, but I didn't plan on spending a second away from Poe right now until I had to. "Now, I need to go talk to Leia and Major Ematt about all this. Come with me?"
Poe matched my grin, still shaking his head but letting me pull him out of the hanger base with me.
"Of course. I'd follow you anywhere, you absolute maniac."
I just laughed as Poe fell into step beside me, our hands still held tight as we marched through the base. By no means was this war over; we still had so much work to do, and being back on base didn't even come close to putting me out of danger. But now I was in danger and fighting alongside Poe and all the people I cared about, while still putting my skills as a spy to full use. It was the best of both worlds, and in the middle of fighting back against an Empire that just didn't want to stay down, victories like this alongside loved ones were the things most worth fighting for.
