truly something hilarious abt ao3 users trying to call ao3 the library of alexandria like. once again do you guys not read nonfiction. as someone who mostly reads nonfiction my life is truly not at all impacted by ao3. also i wouldnt trust ao3 as a source on Any Goddamn Thing, both factually (fun fact: most fic writers are writing self indulgently, so while you can write about ass slick all you want, you cannot call it sex ed) and socially (fanfiction is a niche subculture unrelated to like, how people in real life think and act).

like dont get me wrong. fiction is important culturally i do enjoy fiction frequently before commenting something silly please do take a quick peek through my blog to see that i am not immune to a good time.

but like, i can read about gay people and government suppression and animals and shit. like outside of ao3. ive been really big on contemporary romanian art history and formal analysis lately. you guys should give that one a peek. maybe then you will understand the world is not reliant on tony stark hole to function

you cant have your cake and eat it too either fanfiction is self indulgent hobby work free from the confines of reality and "puritans" (note: that word does not mean what you think it means) or its the backbone of social justice and cultural understanding. you guys have fun figuring that one out im going back to reading The Poison Squad by Deborah Blum.
