What if 'Gundam SEED' was told from Flay's point of view? How would they approach it? Would it have been better?

to be honest with you i didn't rewatch seed during my latest viewing of seed destiny so i can't say i remember enough to have a In-Depth analysis about the successes and failures of seed But! that being said in retrospect i actually really like flay? i like what they do with her character and i like her role in the story. i like that she's meant to be an asshole and more than a little of a bitch but it's never unsympathetic (unjustified maybe) and i like how her being rich and sheltered and YOUNG (i'm pretty sure the girl is literally 14 when the series starts) plays into how she reacts to the events of seed ... like the war is Not kind to her in the slightest. she's such a good character that explores the civilian side of war and how hatred can so easily twist into your very being if you don't know any better (or you're not given the opportunity to know any better)... i love her!! and i love her redemption arc at the end!

that being said, i actually don't think making flay the protagonist would have been better ,,, a large part of seed (and extends to seed destiny) is the relationship between kira and athrun; how your enemy is just those who happen to be on the other side of the battlefield, the cycle of violence and how it continues to be exacerbated in the name of revenge, etc etc. i think it's important that s/sd are told from the pov of the soldiers because of that? also because i just think the kira-athrun conflict throughout the series is soooo .... </3 i love my star-crossed bffs .

to be fair i think if flay was the protagonist it would have been a lot more of a character drama than it already is but i feel like they explore her character well as is in the anime? she has such a pinnacle role in kira's character i can't really see her being expanded in a better way than that! also i'm ngl the anti-coordinator bigotry flay has in like . probably the first third of the anime is already a hard pill to swallow as a side character idk if i could go through seed with her as the main character HSDFJLDSFKJJ like i already don't like kira!!! the beginning of seed is hard enough to get through with him as the protagonist!!!!
