i wonder what it is abt chrysigil that makes me write essay-length ideas abt them. i was drawing their spotify art and i was mentally drafting a thesis statement for it 😭
#memorie.txt#its all very surface level thesis stuff for it BUT it would gotten me a passing grade in ap art#‘bc art wasn’t like ap lit&comp#anyway it might have to do w the fact that chrysigil is all abt them NOT clicking together at all#everything is hard work and they are NOT meant to be but that doesn’t matter bc they’re both stubborn#and they WANT to be together#vs chrysi with despair or azure where i can easily say ‘soulmates’ and leave it at thst#or vs chrysi with jacks and mordred where they both want love so badly and chrysi gives her whole heart so easily#that they fall together almost inadvertently#or vs archibald who’s jst. annoying and extremely charming so of course.#of course he and chrysi end up together#but with chrysi and gil they have to jump through so many HOOPS#add to the fact that chrysi doesn’t let herself open up + gil is i observant/unaware#*unobservant#and that makes everything a million times more difficult#long story short: chrysigil is all abt reaching for each other but not letting themselves take the final step#and in my art you can actually see chrysi being more guarded than gil#reaching for him then changing her mind#and holding her hand over her heart instead#like GRRRR BARK BARK i could’ve analyzed this in ap art and gotten an a on this project 😭#edit: i had the canvas flipped so chrysi doesn’t ACTUALLY have her hand over her heart 💔 but i can fix that#bc now i want that symbolism
