Me: So I got this multi-chapter fic right

Brain: Uh-huh

Me: Focuses around Silver and Espio starting as complete strangers with flaws and issues they gotta work on.

Brain: yeye

Me: Like I’m trying to be casual in the writing so I don’t want big world-saving high stakes objectives or like big adventures.

Brain: .....mhm....

Me: So like the fic is gonna have a lot of focus on them talking and bonding and trying to help each other grow

Brain: .......MMMHMMMMMM

Me: But it also feels weird because of the lack of Big Adventure™ and other things I had in other fics, like even if the story grew clear enough to start writing, it feels I don’t even have a genre I can name?? Like even even "adventure" doesn't feel right.

Brain: .

Brain: Romance. Your genre is romance.

#guess im writing Espilver now huh #this is a half-joke post in the sense that it took me a whole ass month to accept that maybe I did wanna write them that way for this KCBKS #instead of like 5 seconds #not in a “shipping bad” sense but rather “I'm such a big platonic writer usually wouldn't it feel weird to not go platonic?”#espilver #rambling #rep n brain #did a bit of exploration of the ship like looking at what their relationship can be like and re-watching the Rivals 2 cutscenes #me likey how they act toward each other it seemed to me it was rooted in respect and trust and me likey that #there's also the element that I like to explore different relationships with Silver like who he’s closer to in the particular fic #like with Knuckles in At Hope’s End and Amy in Where Home Is #and while I still want to explore him and Espio as only friends I think Romance would be nice to explore bc I haven’t tried to write-#-romance in YEARS like I don't remember when's the last time I tried #Where the Water Narrows #anyway I hope my readers won't mind a fic with Espilver as a central thing bc uuh that's the next multi-chaptered story they're getting KDB
