Allyship isn't about feeling good or proving that you're a Good Person™
Allyship is about recognizing the inherent humanity of marginalized peoples, and that we deserve rights and dignity because we're people.
#ally advice#lgbt#lgbtq#putting this in queer tags but that doesn't mean it applies only to queerness#that's why i now hesitate to call myself an 'ally' because that terminology is just uncomfortable now#anybody can call themself an ally y'know? it doesn't mean you ally yourself with marginalized people though
