Paris Haute Couture ss23 -Part Two

Giambattista Valli

- I think this was such an elegant collection, though admittedly for a lot of it, super puffy dresses aren’t entirely my thing

- I love the barbie vibes of Look 34 (bottom left photo) honestly if Margot Robbie doesn’t wear this to the Barbie Movie premiere a CRIME will have been committed

Elie Saab

- the collection I feel has made a real storm, and understandably so

- love the combination of culture with elegant, tasteful, wearable pieces

- these look like the clothes of the Gods, honestly

- I actually liked the shoulder pieces on these garments, which is a miracle

Schiaparelli’s saving Grace

- I HATE the trend of big and broad shoulders/shoulder pieces, but for some reason if it’s leather I like it?

- I like that it creates a broad shoulder, but that the collar is exposed

- the dress has a really gorgeous silhouette

Rahul Mishra

- I don’t normally like super busy patterns, but something about this collection felt really tasteful and whimsical to me

- I love the texture on Look 5 (bottom centre photo) and Look 8, it really successfully presents the impression of the ocean

Chanel

- as always, Chanel’s collection was very same-y, I did really like these two pieces though-

- I usually unfortunately hate the trends at shows (shoulder pieces/large shoulder and arms, tassels and feathers etc) but I love that I’m seeing so many capes and long coats

Antonio Grimaldi

- I was a bit torn on this collection, because the garments are very simple, but let’s face it - THE ARE STUNNING

- I think they’re so elegant and wearable, I would love to see them on a red carpet (which, again, is kinda how I look at HC collections)
