Christine elfman
She received an MFA at California college of arts and a BFA at Cornell university. She has archives at George Eastman house. University of Rochester rare book library, and Berkeley art museum. The process she goes through when taking her photo is anthotypy. It's a historic photograph process. She exposes her photographs fro Long periods of time in the sun.she uses light sensitive dyes harvested from plants as actinic material. She would layer large transparency on top of her naturally dyed papers. Depending on how much light the photos were exposed to will determine how much of the photos will disappear.her photos represent a sort of stillness and change, visibility and the unknown.
