Prey director Dan Trachtenberg has closed a deal to helm at least one episode of the final season of Stranger Things, multiple sources tell One Take News, and we’ve confirmed it with Netflix’s camp as well. Sources add that while the constant landscape of Hollywood is changing due to ongoing strikes, Trachtenberg is expected to remain on board.
Dan Trachtenberg is best known to modern audiences as the director of 2022’s Prey, a breakout success on Disney+ that is arguably the best film in the Predator franchise. He is also known for his work on 2016’s 10 Cloverfield Lane, which was another successful horror film. These two films alone should prove why he is a perfect director for the Netflix series. However he has also dipped his toes into the television genre through his work on The Boys and Black Mirror, for which his direction got praise.

Predators (2010)
Tumblr media
Sometimes after watching truly great movies, I suffer a sort of writer’s block.  With such an incredible artwork, what could I possibly say to touch the face of god, to illuminate the already luminescent?  This is the exact opposite.  Predators is such a vacant, vapid non-event of a B-movie exploitation piece that I struggle to say anything about my experience at all beyond expressing basic regret for having wasted my time in the first place.  A murderer’s row of character actors join husky-voiced Adrien Brody on an inhospitable planet and get mowed down one by one.  Did we really have to have the Walton Goggins character make light about sexual assault, and have the movie cancel that out with an apparently queer Laurence Fishburne?  Fuck all of this.  This is the sort of movie my dad would show to me when I was in the seventh grade and it was 1AM on a Saturday night as some sort of weird attempt at bonding.  Okay, yeah, the guns go boom.  Fun times.  Can I go to bed now?
THE RULES
SIP
Someone says a swear.
Adrien’s character is evasive about something.
Someone says ‘help’.
Electric guitar sting!  That’s exciting!
BIG DRINK
Predator-vision.
Someone bites it.
Off-color sexual assault jokes, Jesus H Christ what

Predators (2010)
This is a Movie Health Community evaluation. It is intended to inform people of potential health hazards in movies and does not reflect the quality of the film itself. The information presented here has not been reviewed by any medical professionals.
Predators has several sequences of machine gun fire, most of which take place in daylight. There is some sparking of damaged electrical equipment that creates strobe effects in dark environments. Some scenes from the point-of-view of the creatures have occasional bright flashes as they shift their focus from subject to subject.
The film opens with a highly disorienting skydiving sequence, with spinning, rolling, and shaking of the camera. Through the rest of the film, most of the camera work is smooth, but there is some mild shaking in a few action scenes. There is also some peril at extreme heights.
Flashing Lights: 9/10. Motion Sickness: 6/10.
TRIGGER WARNING: This film is very bloody and gory. There is a noble-sacrifice suicide, a mercy killing, and a character who almost dies by suicide as an alternative to a more painful death. One character openly admits to being a rapist without remorse. A man vomits once while inhaling smoke.

Predators (2010) dir. Nimród Antal. 7.5/10
I wouldn't recommend this movie to my friends. I wouldn't rewatch this movie.
I didn't know Adrien Brody could play a role like this. He killed it. His body and his mind was great. I think putting the movie back in this jungle setting like in the first Predator is good. I like it here. I like how smart everyone is. Except, idk about the death row guy. Now, let's have a crossover with either Alien or The Hunt.
The poor predator that's been tied up this whole time only to be beheaded right after.
Hanzo's battle taking me to Ghost of Tsushima.
