any tips for a 12th grader?
Hi!
It's been a good while since I passed out but I'll try my best to answer considering one, I was in a mentally traumatic state during my college and two, I absolutely loathed Science<3
So here goes. Also this is what worked out for me but the best option I'd suggest is to try and work out which works best for you!
Micromanaging is key. Studying for a stretch for like hours will make you more exhausted and more irritated (in my experience). Instead, work in slots of alternate studying and doing timepass.
For example, you study for 1//2 hours and then take a break of 15//30 minutes. And repeat. So it'll form a good pattern of studying and not studying. That way you'll remain focused but not get tired of studying as well.
For example (2), you take up a topic, study it and take a break. So it's more of a content based compartmentalisation of time. Either of the two or a completely different way can work out for you. Whichever gives you the least headache!
Eat. I did the horrible mistake of ignoring my food habits and it DID NOT help. A lot of people in my vicinity were worried about gaining weight and this take because they say at one place and didn't do any physical activity. Don't worry about any of that.
Especially during your 12th, everything is pretty intense. But don't miss out on eating and eating on time. It's not about healthy eating or whatever, it's about keeping your health in check. Eat meals on time, drink a lot of water.
Day or night? I always prefer studying during the day, revising at night and sleeping for six hours if you can. I also don't know what are you doing (JEE//NEET//etc) so your schedule might be different. I did 12th classes along with my Architecture entrance exam classes so for me it was a little less intense and I could get sleep.
If you're a night owl, don't plan to study till too long. Your body and mind are not a machine, they will get tired at night and eventually you'll lose focus as time passes. Hence, studying at early morning time and through the day, revise at night and sleep well.
Music. Always helps consciously and subconsciously. Consciously when you're taking a break and you just need to vibe and let loose. Subconsciously when you're studying and just need a white noise in the background. But again like I said, try and see what works for you.
Walks. Always help to just stretch your limbs, get out of the house and the lowley claustrophobia and visual boredom. I always went on evenings, to catch the sunsets. 11//10 would recommend haha.
People. They're not wrong when they say humans are social creatures. Don't hide yourself in your bedroom and detach yourself from the world and study. Doesn't help. Ends up in more frustration.
Talk to your parents, siblings, etc about their day, what food you want to eat, what program you want to watch. That way you're not completely alienating yourself and low-key feeling alone.
Talk to whoever you're comfortable with regarding any fears, anxiety or negative emotions you're feeling. Communication always helps. Don't bottle up emotions, it will harm you later. Let go and talk. As long as you're comfortable and feeling better in the end.
This went out of hand very quickly, but hope this helps you in some way. Key is trial and error to see what schedule and tips work out of you. All the best! Do drop in another ask if you need more help LMAO
