#memes#media#gender#this meme brought to you by me trying to figure out whatever the fuck the deal is with the lyn twins in genshin impact#they're weirdly identical as many fictional m-f twins are#but why did lynette get the cat ears when lyney didn't?#there are a few possibilities#one is that it's related to epigenetic factors#i.e. they both have the genes for it but some factor caused them to only selectively activate in one of them#one is that it's an x-linked recessive trait such that they started as xx or xxx#and split such that lyney is xx heterozygous and lynette is x/ with the one x carrying it#another is that it's a y-linked trait and lyney is x/ and lynette is xy#or you know they could be fraternal with just ridiculously similar traits#or genetics just work differently in that universe#or any number of things really because biology is fucking weird#but shhhh i LIKE to think of the less common possibilities#especially when said less common possibilities mean they're both trans
