hi anon from this ask I guess specifically speaking how do you usally go about picking photos of idols, color schemes, background/ decorations?
Like the cupid's law banner or even your theme/navi for example? I assume the two processes were different but if you could explain one?
(also I'm not very good at explaining what I mean, sorry if this is not clear enough T-T)
Oh no worries,,, I'll do a small explanation but if you need anything parts in detail just let me know! (I'm not on my comp rn so I'll exactly show u all the tools, but I'll try to use Google images to find them)
So using the cupids law banner as an example
The first thing I did here was go on photoshop and create a new banner,,, however what I did was make a transparent banner(1280x480)
Saur that's what the transparent banner would look like compared to a white or black.
The next thing I do was to create the curves using the pen tool and it automatically fills your shape with a colour so u can just change the colour to whatever u want.
After this, I woul basically use the object selection tool to cut out the heeseung photo. (On a different layer)
The on another layer(under the heeseung pics layer),,, I use I usually use the angular lasso tool to create the white outline around him. (This will create a sharp look)
For example my old yeonjun banner
The purple is very sharp and clean cut.
However for this specific banner, I didn't use the lasso tool instead I hand drew the white behind him which usually creates a rounder look.
After this was the text ontop of heeseung. What u do is just type on something (in those case "heeseung") and play with the layers.
So for the two that are behind him, you would put those layers underneath the heeseung pngs. And for the on on top, u just put that layer on top of the hee png.
I can't add any more photos bc of the blr photo limit. But the next steps are pretty easy.
For the text on the left (title and stuff) I use phonto for the fonts. You can download fonts from dafont and import them into phonto. If u need font inspo just go on pinterest and search up "font inspo."
As for the decoration, just search them up on pinterest. For example if u want a heart, search up "heart overlay" (Yes it usually has a black background)
Then you import the picture into photoshop and for the blending options and press "screen." This will remove the black background.

As for how I choose my background colours and all,,, I usually use a darker colour that is already in the photo. (Or a darker variant of a colour in the photo)
So for the cupids law banner, I used the pink of Heeseung's hair but then made it darker. For the yeonjun one, the background is the same colour as the stars on his shirt.
So the key is I'd to make sure the background colour makes sense. Don't randomly make the background a colour that doesn't appear in the photo.

No it's not rude at all dw!!
Hmmm for graphics, I'd say find an app that allows you to cut out png versions of your picture. The most important thing is to have clean cut pngs of your "character" so it doesn't look messy or rushed.
Another thing I suggest is,,, for the background of your graphic, make sure it has a correlation to the original photo. For example, let's say I'm using this sunghoon picture
I would use the eyedropper tool to take the darker colours in this picture to use as the background. This photo is also suitable for a black background. The most important thing is to make sure it makes sense. Don't use a photo like this and pair it with a lime green background or smth,,, that would be horrible 😭🤚🏼 always use the colour in the photo
Another tip is to make sure your graphic isn't too "one-side heavy." Balance it out with maybe small stickers or smth to make sure the weight isn't only on one side. For example this banner
I out jake on the left side and the text on the right. However, I balanced out the weight by putting the heavy dark buildings as an overlay so the left side wouldn't be as heavy.
There are some example for when the heavy on one side style works tho. For example this banner.
I left the left side pretty empty and simple. However, to achieve this, you need to keep the right side clean. Usually you don't want something too complicated on one side. For this banner the white on the left also acts as a balancer to keep the left side interesting. If there was just blue without the white rip part, it would look empty.
Another tip is to use overlays! You can find them easily on pinterest. All you needa do is use the "screen" blending tool and it'll remove the black background. Or another choice is to cut out pngs!
My last tip for pngs is basically to always use a the colour of the background to go over the lines of your png image. You can use like a more dispersed brush so it's not that harsh. This will reduce the "popping out" look that sometimes can occur when u cut out a png and paste it on your background.

SO LIKE 2022 😭 but yess I did leave everything to likes and reblogs. When I first started out, I updated really frequently(?) Like three chapters a day 💀 so maybe my works were quite frequently seen in the tags (?) Tbh I'm not very sure,,,, but recently I found its a lot harder to start out bc I feel like a lot of readers left? And it's not as easy for people to notice work :(( but my only tip is just to make sure your works are neatly organized, neat and that you have a regular update schedule. When starting out, I think it's best to update more frequently so you don't lose your reader's attention. But abt the friends part,,, honestly the biggest way is to interact with their works and send them asks! People are genuinely really kind and won't turn you down if u want to talk. The most important thing is just finding smth you guys have in common. But yess if you're talking abt blr friends then def send them asks and interact with their works or their posts! I think that's the easiest way :))) ♡

hi sei!! im in the midst of writing a hoon x reader fic, but ive got a problem cuz im a little worried about making him too ooc 😭😭😭 since youve written a few hoon smaus yourself can i ask for some tips on how to write hoon?
Hi luv!! I personally always either write him as a some dumb kid or a jerk 😭😭😭😭 but I think the go to when I'm writing for him is smth like a character who's not really good with his words. Someone who doesn't express too much of his feelings at the beginning? I usually just go with the whole "shy/closed off until u get to know him more" type. But personally, idk if you're actually going too ooc, bc I don't think it really matters because he is technically fictionalized characterized by you right so I don't think you really have to worry!
Unless it's really concerning you, maybe u can send me a little what ur hoon is like? And maybe I can help u from there?
But in general I think you should be fine 💖
