#anon: ''with both botw and totk out of mind''

With both BOTW and totk out of mind, would you say that the Zelda series isn’t heavy on connecting the timeline together anyway? If that makes any sense. I’m just curious.
It makes sense bc that's exactly how I feel! I think the games were NEVER intended to perfectly fit into any sort of a timeline, be it a triple one or a linear one. I think each game reinvents the lore and uses iconography of previous games only to reimagine instead of follow the conventions set by its predecessors. I don't care what Nintendo says, the official timeline makes no sense and I don't mind at all actually. On a creative level, it's fun to reinvent a world over and over again across decades, and on a capitalist level it's easier to sell games featured under one series brand than it is to sell each and every one as its own thing. IRL legends also rarely follow exact history, so if you don't wanna suspend your disbelief you can just tell yourself it's a series of legends that got transformed throughout times and there is no way to know if they are true.
BotW did great to establish this exact philosophy - it namedropped all three timelines, it features architectural and cultural references to everything, effectively rendering the official timeline useless. It doesn't matter which legends are true, the only thing that really matters is that Zelda is Hylia's descendant, Link is the reincarnation of the Hero, and Ganondorf was sealed away at one point and turned into Ganon. BUT THEN TotK said "Nuh-uh" and presented an alternative history that had nothing to do with ANYTHING. AT ALL. LIKE. NOTHING. NOT EVEN BOTW. If BotW was a love letter to all the games that came before it, TotK was a fire setting ablaze all the gentle nostalgia until only the barest bones of "Zelda is a princess of Hyrule" remained.

do koltin and kilton fit in your extended demonology lorebuilding? interested what youd classify em as
THEY SURE DO, ANON, THANKS FOR ASKING!
Right so like, BotW/TotK is so incredibly far from the events of my AU, but I have definitely overthought about how the Demon Tribe stuff would fit Kilton and Koltin in.
Firstly though, some Boko Tribe stuff reminders
1) Their advantage is having very plastic physical adaptability <- to account for their wide variety of body types in the different games, encompass all the various subtypes (Moblin, Bokoblin, Miniblin, etc), and explain why they're the only demon tribe that has persisted in any noticeable numbers through the ages. They're just really pro at adapting to new things.
2) They're easily affected/warped by Magicka <- to account for the game's evil Bokos. In this way, they're a result of Malice being overused to control and resurrect them, rather than evil behavior being their norm. Basically they are on the same level of sentience as humans, but exposure to uncontrolled Malice degrades their minds much faster than it would others. It's essentially the flipside to the above plasticity advantage. They're malleable in ways that are both good and bad.
Man, what does this have to do with Kilton and Koltin, Shea?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
✨They have mixed Hylian/Boko heritage ✨
(I always thought the silhouettes here were really similar and wondered if it was intentional, but anyways)
So the headcanon here is that Kilton and Koltin's parents are a non-corrupted blue Boko and a particularly adventurous Hylian. I imagine they're a very sweet couple!!!! Here they are when they were younger.
Tumblr media
I never thought of names for them, they just exist somewhere and probably don't hang out much in towns. (We love a power couple, but this sort of thing is likely to freak out the Hylian locals.)
I like to draw the two brothers with tiny little horn nubs as a nod to this. They don't have full horns and never will, but they probably were very excited for their lil skull bumps to grow like 0.05mm over the years.
Tumblr media
The family would very much be aware of the whole Malice corruption thing. That's why Kilton is so passionate about "monster education" - he knows the corrupt Bokos were once normal people and often just mind their own business in the wilderness, but also knows that it's dangerous for humans to try and approach. So his ventures with his traveling stall and presentations in Tarrey Town are his way of trying to bridge that gap safely.
Additionally, I imagine Kilton and Koltin can travel pretty easily amongst corrupted Bokos, but not bands of Lizal or Lynel. Kilton would have attempted creating masks because of this issue, then afterwards added the various Boko masks for humans to use. (The Magicka is extremely rudimentary, like, barely a Glamour if you're familiar with my magic systems, which is why they fail frequently). And sidenote for monster extract, I think it would be funny if it's just like, a normal ingredient his mom uses and he just puts purple food coloring in it for the Exotic Flair. Like it's just vanilla extract or something lmao.
That was the rambliest possible answer, but tldr they're half-Bokoblin teehee

So, if you're taking requests, might I suggest Link getting pegged by Zelda? Botw flavor but ultimately your preference.
Bless you anon you asked about this ages ago and I tried and failed to draw it. But now I've ficced it! Kinda gave up toward the end but It Is Done Finally.
🔸️Game: Post BOTW or TOTK (non-specific)
🔸️Pairing: Link / Zelda
🔸️Content warnings: Anal sex, pegging, dom / sub dynamics, praise kink
"Is this alright?"
A brief nod from Link.
"..Can you speak to me? Helps put me more at ease…"
He swallows, forcing himself to look at her with those bashful blue eyes. "Yes, Zel."
Above him Zelda smiles gently, granting a reward in the form of a loving motion, tracing her fingertips along his scarred outer thigh. "Good. You know how much hearing that voice means to me."
She means it with sincerity. That voice is a testament to how much he's changed from the knight she once knew a century ago. Though, by the little flush of color on Link's cheeks she assumes the hero's thoughts have ventured in a more lewd direction. Perhaps toward the noises she'll soon coax out of him, whether verbal or not.
"Can you fit a third?"
Link nods again, but quickly catches himself. "Yes. I'm ready."
As a third finger, slicked with chu chu jelly enters Link's hole, she feels his muscles wanting to clamp shut desperately around the foreign intrusion. But ultimately she wins, of course. Link wants her to win. With a loud exhale he allows himself to relax, fully submitting both body and mind.
"Good boy…" Zelda praises in a low voice. "You're doing wonderfully, Link."
That's like honey to him. She can't help but grin as he laps up the words, his cheeks that pretty pink color they love to turn when he's flustered from her revering.
Zelda's gaze then turns to her lap, to what this has all been leading up to. "Are you ready to try this?"
"Please…"
It's a fun little invention of theirs, strapped around Zelda's thighs. They'd fashioned it out of some old belts and fabric. And for the penetrative device, an old, rather hideous outfit of Link's had been a worthy sacrifice neither of them cared much to say bye to. The smooth, rubbery material is slick and slippery  all lubed up in Zelda's hands, and she imagines it will slide nicely into Link's stretched ass. Still, this is a bit of an experiment for them both. One they're eager to get started.
The princess gets into position, taking a moment to admire her new "dick" and the way Link's eyes twinkle with anticipation. With a gentle smile and a pat on the hips, prompting him to spread himself wider, she lines herself up with his waiting hole.
"Tell me if I need to pull out, alright?" She instructs and Link is back to just nodding his answers, though this time she allows it.
With bated breath, the two of them watch as the makeshift penis disappears slowly into Link's hole. The hero lets out a dull moan, his legs opening even wider, as if trying to make room inside of him he doesn't have. His body language is stiff, not quite sure what to make of this new sensation, but his eyes betray him again. He stares up at her in half-lidded adoration, clearly wanting more.
"How does it feel?" Zelda asks, barely above a whisper. Her arousal is clear as day, to an embarrassing degree, she thinks. She's known now for years she gets off to being in control, but she usually has a bit more self restraint than this…
"Different…" Link hums, adjusting his hips a little before adding "Good."
"That's it? You can't be more descriptive than that?"
Link lets out a little huff of amusement, smirking. "Do you want a detailed analysis, princess?"
When Zelda suddenly thrusts the full length into him his cheeky smile soon becomes hers. Instead, Link lets out an awkward mix between a moan and a squeak and tries his very hardest to look offended at the sudden intrusion (failing miserably).
"Don't get snarky with me, Link." She beams, looking utterly pleased with herself in this position. Though a beat later her loving side comes back, as it always does, and she looks down at him, wordlessly asking permission to continue.
It seems one taste at deeper penetration was far from enough for a boy so ravenous, not that she's surprised.  "Mmm... Please... Faster." Link croons, accepting but impatient. "Please, Zel."
As she starts to thrust a slow and steady rhythm, she can feel Link squirm underneath her every time her cock hits that one spot. She could certainly drag this out longer. Watch him writhe and break him down til he's begging for it. But in this state, as she penetrates him for the first time, she simply cannot deny it. To make him wait for it is to edge her, too.
"Good boy." She praises back at him, granting the reward he's been craving.
Link is whining every other second, his face a deep scarlet, drenched in sweat. The occasional breathy "Yes.. yes.." serving only to spur the princess' hips faster. He's an absolute wreck below her. His legs are shaking. His breath is shallow and fast. His averted gaze looks practically shameful at how much he's enjoying this. At his unwavering submission and desire to please himself, and her. Zelda thinks right now he's the most beautiful boy in the world…
The bedroom is soon filled with the noise of skin on skin. There's gentle huffs and loving praise spilling from Zelda's mouth, as if her thoughts cannot be contained in her brain alone.
"Well I'd consider that a stupendous success. Don't you agree?"
When his orgasm hits him and Link shudders and cries he makes no attempt to contain himself. He's truly vulnerable for those few seconds, and Zelda can feel herself so unbelievably wet underneath the toy as she groans in unison with him. Wave after wave of pleasure leaves him hot and panting, smiling despite it all. And when the dizzying rapture finally subsides Zelda speaks, her tone almost comical.

hi so completely unrelated anon here— i’ve been stalking this whole thread on athena, aphrodite, songbird, atalanta, etc. mayhaps, can i have the lion thoughts about atalanta? thoughts, perhaps, involving the whole century long situation? the yearning!! the longing!!
hey anon! i saw your other ask and dw abt it! i'll take any opportunity to spill my thoughts, but i kinda held off since atalanta is more 🧚🏽‍♀️'s creation and i didn't wanna like,, shoehorn (???) it-- but at the same time, like i said, if i'm prompted i will ramble and make no sense whatsoever. so.
in atalanta's original story, she was turned into a lion by artemis/zeus because she lost her virginity/having sex in his sanctuary (respectively), right? i'd imagine that [name] was turned into an animal by ganondorf because she had relations (either romantic or sexual, both would be good enough reason for him) with wild/flora
(keeping in mind that [name] is gerudo and i'd imagine that ganondorf wouldn't take kindly to any of them (the gerudo) having relations with his enemies-- especially the ones that are his sworn, eternity-long enemies that kill him almost every single lifetime)
(she likely didn't even know he was the link or recognize that flora was the princess. they were just two foreigners she took a liking to and ganondorf wanted to be safe and assure nothing came from it)
(but on that note, i like to ignore most of what botw/totk say lorewise when it comes to each race/species. i like to imagine that even though the gerudo supposedly turned ganondorf away from them, they're still 🤞🏽 with him because being in cahoots with him put them in a lot of danger)
i imagine that ganondorf wouldn't turn [name] into an animal like a lion, but rather a monster of sorts? maybe a unique lynel that's not white, blue, golden, or silver-maned? either that or an animal that can only survive in the desert (to lessen the chances of link finding her) that's mystical like a blupee?
(i also think that ganondorf planned to turn her back after a certain amount of time (not a century) but got caught up with his battle with zelda in the castle and was perpetually like "wtf am i forgetting")
it wouldn't take long for rumors surrounding [name]'s sudden transformation to spread among the gerudo and news of a mythical creature to reach outside the deserts.
the gerudo know better than to approach [name] with malicious intentions not only because she's still their sister regardless of her form, but because the monsters that are always surrounding her act like bodyguards (more assurance. they aren't aggressive to gerudo). her tale is a required story for (gerudo) mothers to tell their (gerudo) daughters as both a cautionary tale to be careful of who they choose as lovers and so they're aware that she (and her monsters) are friend rather than foe.
(the monsters are like the hippomenes to her atalanta, just platonically)
[name]'s tale isn't known outside anyone gerudo. it's to both keep her safe from hunters looking for their next animal to mount or sell and because they don't want to go through the very long process of gaslighting/jailing anyone who saw her out in the desert.
with only monsters for companions as you go throughout a seemingly endless desert with the occasional (seldom) visitor from someone you have to watch age as you stay the same is both lonely and disheartening, especially since you're essentially trapped in said desert with no chance to interact with anyone outside of it.
i'd figure that the gerudo would take [name] (and, by association, the monsters) back to the main city for festivities and celebrations so they're able to remind her that she still has a place with them, as well as make it so she's not just in the empty desert, by herself, with only monsters for company a few days/weeks out of the year.
uhmmmm,, talking about the pining/longing from atalanta during the 100 years (it is Not my strong suit), i personally think it'd be more like "there is no way i let this manlet rizz me into being cursed," and blaming herself?
like, yeah, part of her longs to be with wild/flora again because,,,,, woah,,,, she'd never been so infatuated with someone like she has been with them, but the other part is screaming "if i get out of this i'm becoming celibate," and it's a constant battle of that until she's eventually like "i'm never getting out of this. why would i stay stuck on someone who's probably dead now," because word travels fast and it wouldn't take long for her to find out wild/flora is dead/hasn't been seen for a while.
so now she's over them. supposedly. after maybe 5-12 years because she wasn't gonna spend the rest of her (possibly endless) existence hung over someone she'd never see again.
(and it wasn't even getting over them? it was more like repressing any and all feelings by calling them mean names and recognizing their flaws-- but then overtime it's like "damn. i kinda miss the way he would frog blink at someone when they talked a little to long," or "huh. the way she side-eyed anyone who came at her wrong was kinda cute" and suddenly repressed emotions have come back tenfold)
anyways 🧍🏽‍♂️ like i said longing isn't my strongsuit so i dont think i have many thoughts on that? it's mostly centered around her transformation, possible events that happened while she was the creature, and her getting out of it?-- but i also like the idea of [name] keeping some of her creature-features when she's turned back (by either flora post-ganon battle or wild) (wild turning her back are separate thoughts), so post totk, she and [totk spoilers] [totk spoilers] [totk spoilers] and wild gets to have fun with that.
idk i'll have to write [name]'s experience with the century in a drabble or smth

totk rant anon back again with one (1) potentially positive piece of info: turns out the froggy set DOES work as advertised, you just have to upgrade it twice for the set bonus. or at least i haven't slipped while wearing the full set since i upgraded it. but anyway that's enough about totk for now.
good luck with getting through aoc! i personally find it a lot easier to excuse the questionable writing in that game than in totk because revali is in it and i am deeply biased. that said, the game is definitely more fun if you pay less attention to the main cutscenes and more attention to the little character details in sidequests & mid-battle dialogue (sadly, i don't think there are any comprehensive compilations of said dialogue, though i have been planning to make one for at least revali. one of these days.)
aoc also has the same problem that botw (and likely totk as well) had, where the english localization is just... off sometimes, which compounds the writing issues. for example, in That cutscene, where english revali is complaining about "this nobody", his original dialogue is him demanding "why is LINK the leader" in the most petulant tone ever, and it's way funnier in my opinion. (i also don't think he refers to link as "failed" at the end of the medoh battle either??) plus, for that one sidequest that claims revali called the flight range upgrades "adequate", as far as i could tell other languages outright state that he seemed pleased with the upgrades. it's not a huge difference, but it's a little less "wow it's so surprising revali was exhibiting basic decency" and a little more "he was acting like he didn't care but he clearly cared".
oh yeah and the "you're good, but i'm better" line was originally more along the lines of "impressive, but that's as far as you go". again, a subtle difference, but more appropriate for someone who believed he was in a life-or-death battle with a legitimate enemy at the time. i could go on, but between this and botw (do you know about his original dialogue when firing on ganon. because it's really something.) there's... a lot, so i'll leave it at this.
but yeah i think it's hilarious that regardless of timeline, revali is just constantly trying and failing to get link to pay attention to him. absolute loser. i love him
OH OKAY! i didn't really bother with upgrading more than once because i was disappointed with it still slipping but i'll keep that in mind for any future playthroughs!
"revali is in it and i'm extremely biased" why are you literally me wkhejsjksje. same tho i'm willing to look past the weird way aoc writes him just because i'm so happy to see him again. also omg if you do make a compilation for revali please send it my way!!! i need more content to feed on no matter how small sjhsjejjd.
AND YEAH like it's such an important distinction to make. i haven't seen the original text for the aoc cutscenes but from what you've said it really just sounds like revali's issue lies with not being the centre of attention (which definitely fits him a lot better), rather than being rude to link for the sake of being rude. honestly in japanese revali just seems to be a lot more immature and that's why he's so abrasive and cocky, at least to me that is.
in japanese revali does openly admire and respect link!! like there's no hesitancy to his praise like there is in english and it gives more weight to his dejection at link not reacting to his skills and seemingly not seeing him as equal. also yeas i just rewatched the firing at ganon scene OUGH the way he goes from calling himself the "key" in ganon's defeat to using that same phrasing for link after medoh is freed drives me insane. like he can finally admit that link is the better warrior!!! the english version making it about link's "luck" drives me insane but for a completely different reason because literally what the hell.
i just rewatched that one video going over all of the small but significant changes made between both versions and like. they really did just add a bunch of unnecessary insults in there huh. like there's a huge difference between revali questioning if link understands the importance of his gale in japanese to straight up insulting his intelligence in english.
but you're right. regardless of discrepancies between languages, revali will always be so gay it makes him look stupid.
