Journey to the centre of the Earth (2008)

(added shoutout to the 1959 classic adaption directed by Henry Levin if anyone is interested in older movies)

Warnings: mild violence

Wow. I haven’t seen this movie in a very long time and honestly I forgot how good it is. Firstly, ignoring the clear green screen (which for it’s time was pretty decent) the movie takes me back to when I was a child and wanted to explore the world as they do in the movie.

If you’re looking for a good family action/adventure movie to watch, I recommend this one. Brendan Fraser is such an iconic actor and he plays the role perfectly earning a few laughs along the way. His chemistry with Icelandic actress Anita Briem is well matched and brings about a background “will they/won’t they” question without making romance the main storyline.

This movie brings back good memories of my childhood, and it will always hold a special place in my heart.
