the sheer difference in the tones i specifically set for my blade and dan heng playlists is so melancholy to me. and i literally chose to do it

blade’s switches from slow, lifeless, and hopeless, to desperate, dark, frantic, and chaotic. repeatedly. like documenting a descent into insanity

and dan heng’s is hopeful. like slowly opening your eyes and feeling the sun on your face for the first time in years. like being pulled OUT of a threat to your sanity. and ooghhmmygod

#because they both have teams yet are so alone #dan heng still has to bear the burden of dan feng’s crimes but he never lived through them himself #he has the chance at a new life with the express. true desires #and blade’s Everything is just a means to an end.#crazed. barely hanging on yet forced to do so.#everything he does is absolutely devoid of hope. consciously and unconsciously #and while dan heng is sorrowful. he has hope and he has a future.#blade has given up on one #why did i do this to myself #tldr: while they both stem from sorrow. blade’s is pessimistic and dan heng’s optimistic
