Currently watching elkdtal and when sweety said she can't let her dad be the laughing stock of moga , I felt it . This is the truth , this movie gets it . Because you have these amazing parents who love you and sacrifice everything in their life for you to get the best life and best education and the most reputable career , who have given up their happiness and luxuries for you , and you just can't bring yourself to live the life you want , the life that could bring shame to your family . You're just so scared about what the society will think about your family and the values they taught you when you live an out and proud life . Like , I know our parents won't be a 100% accepting of us , but at times more than what they think the thing that keeps us , or at least me , from coming out is how my parents and their parenting will be perceived by my extended family and the times they'd have to bow their heads when talking about me and my life choices .
