i do this thing where i start building a personality for a character that is supposed to be a very minor character in a story, and then i become attached to their pov and write out many many pages dedicated to their pov about the *situation* at hand because i want my readers to understand them when they say certain things to the actual important characters in the story but the minor character's pov goes on for so long that it derails the plot progression a bit to the point where i'm not even sure what was going on at first, just that this minor character's pov is important to *me* and their sad tragic backstory is important to *me* and everyone must now read it

#GOD im really digging into the side character pov tonight #this is what literally happened in a storge for you- just so yall know #william cob and alton carver were never supposed to have 80+ pages dedicated to their pov but GUESS WHAT #it was important to ME ok??? you gotta understand them from how i view them in my lil head and the only way to do that #is write a bajillion words in their pov so when they say something yall can be like 'oh! that's bc X happened in their life!'#and i can be like YES that's EXACTLY why #like. haly isn't even like an obscure character. but. he has POTENTIAL to be like. real. to me.#his name is harrison but he goes by c.c haly?#and the circus was originally c.c haly and norton bros. circus?#uh. how about c.c haly was harrison's father and norton was a business partner that bailed #and then c.c. haly died so harrison inherited it and changed it to haly's circus and THEN he met the graysons and became dick's godfather #WHAT THEN?
