the narcissistic parents subreddit is the worst thing to happen to online discussions of mental health
#built up a whole ridiculous framework to armchair diagnose anyone with shitty behavior w NPD#and then pathologize every behavior#WHILE also recounting sensitive topics like childhood trauma#meaning now they associate abuse with a specific disorder and will project and apply that to every conversation about parents ever#like to a ridiculous amount and starts to assume the dynamics of strangers' homes based off that#then it leaked into the toxic cesspool known as quora#and quora has a vile enough opinion of mental illness as it is#so theres countless threads going 'THIS PERSON IS A NARCISSIST AND WILL ABUSE YOU!!1!!!1'#if you're still dealing w your own baggage from childhood trauma do yourself and others a favor. and dont insert yourself into convos that#trigger you. bc the projecting and the assuming dynamics seems like helping but it's not
