#been meaning to make some photosets of some of the polychromy restorations i've been reading about because they're so cool #researchers use like uv and infrared imaging to see remnants of pigments that the human eye can't detect #and make to-scale replicas of these statues to paint using pigments they've tried to make as close to the original pigments as possible???#like it's really very interesting ...some other ones have gold foil and stuff too i may post more #image described #mythos #greek mythology #polychromy #art restoration #art inspo #greek muses #history #ancient greece
