It's so weird watching Gilmore Girls and then, like, considering what happened to Melissa McCarthy's career. Like. She deserved fucking better.
#woolly rambles#look its not that GG doesnt have fatphobia in it#but Sookie is literally a chef who is canonically excited about food and never once in the show ever is her size brought up#and for the 00s??#and shes not a side character either#shes essential to the main cast and has her own character arc#including her falling in love and starting a family#and like i dont know melissa mccarthy maybe she took exactly the roles she wanted to#but it does feel like she hasnt had a role anywhere near as meaty and complex as sookie since gg ended
