Ahhhh nothing quite like reading a fic for a show set in the early 2000s that has references to tech, memes and lingo from the late 2010s - early 2020s
#and by that I mean I grit my teeth every time it happens but I keep reading cause I’m desperate for more fics with my fave#(the fandom in question btw is Danny phantom. which is set in 2004-2007)#also I’m seriously begging younger writers#PLEASE look up the technology differences and just cultural differences in general between the early 2000s and the present#ESPECIALLY when writing a fic for a media that takes place in the early 2000s!#it was basically a different world that had way more in common with the late 90s than present day#you may not think things are that different but they VERY MUCH ARE#and it will stick out to all the millennials and z-llennials that come across your fic like a sore thumb#FeralsRock talks
