             ‘ ow– ’ the slight discomfort rings a sound from the swordsman and a shift in his position. the disinfect tends to be the most painful process of bandaging up; it’s something he’s meant to be used to at this point and his durability did stand better, but over a gash that has taken quite a piece off his right leg, the sinking of alcohol by the second would eventually draw a pained sound and out it came. an eye glances to robin and he notes the apologetic smile with a small nod before she starts to wipe the abscess liquid off. 

        oftentimes, the swordsman comes in at the hands of the tiny doctor, pestering and lecturing him the same things with each future scar he has to show; bandaging with a gentle touch but a rough and consistent lecturing voice that zoro listens to, then blows off once he’s out the door. there are bits in time during his stay where the doctor has to tend to those who are in immediate need of it and zoro can acknowledge that. with the reckless captain of theirs who receives hundreds of cuts scattered through his body and tough burns on the daily and quite normally left in a state where moving is even difficult, and then a cook who knows no bounds with that leg of his as well. with time and a repetitious usage of it, the injury becomes less focused on the lower half of his body though and starts to become more spread out. 

         the rest of the crew has their fits. hand blisters from gripping the clima-tact for too long, a misfire of their own projectiles, and the doctor fights too. as a doctor, chopper knows his limits well, but the will of a pirate is in him too. they’ve been out sea for a while now and it’s inevitable there’d be a point where all of them would drag their worn out bodies back to the sunny, laying against the deck with a muscle aching just from moving an inch. at times like those, they keep to make sure they’re not in something life-threatening before heeding the doctor for directions or to tend him first. 

          having just returned from a battle where the injuries were much more minimal than the standard except for the large cut that made its way to his leg ( much to his dismay ) and as per the usual, luffy gets his fair share of injuries. zoro decided to save chopper the trouble and dragged himself to the sick bay for a change. unexpectedly, he finds robin, already discovering a box of band-aids which he can only suspect to be meant for those who received bits of scrapes.

           a conversation blooms from the sights of one another and there’s an offer to help zoro start the process of fixing his injury. 

                             he had no reason to decline –

            and it leads to now, where his leg is burning and itchy, but zoro can tell robin has no intentions of bringing any further pain if she could help it. their conversation rests in silence, comfortably and quietly.
