Introducing: @moriafriend or Jackie!
Commissions:  I don’t offer commissions now, and I really don’t see myself offering them in the near future, but if you stick around, I know I definitely will at some point!

What's your artistic process like?
My artistic upbringing is deeply rooted in doodling all over my schoolwork, so I definitely cherish sketching. I’ve never quite had the time (or the attention span...) to sit and finish line art traditionally, but digital art is quicker, so I try to finish it there. Most of the art I’ve posted has been traditional. I’m still quite new to digital art, so I have yet to explore the mechanics and abilities of Paint Tool SAI (the program I use), but I’m gettin’ there! I just recently started using the “listen-to-music-really-loud-and-draw” method, and it’s doing wonders for my focus! With both my school art and fanart, I go in with little to no plan, and I take pride in what I’m capable of improvising! Winging it is a talent of mine in general, so I love getting my hands coated with paint and just deciding to paint with them instead of my brushes, drawing a shape and making it what I imagine it to be, adding funny little details, etcétera etcétera.
Tell us a little bit about yourself!
My name’s Jackie, but I like being called “moria” because of my username. I’m sort of a “jack-of-all-trades” (ha, ha): I know how to code in three languages (javascript, java, python), adore (astro)physics, was a fastpitch softball pitcher (for 8 years, ‘til school got too strenuous), can play the cello, piano, and harmonica, and make an effort to kiss my girlfriend as often as possible! My favorite color is navy blue because it reminds me of outer space. I really love reading about and talking about mythos/lore (which is part of the reason why I love Linked Universe: the lore pops OFF) and about music theory/movie soundtracks!
What kind of mediums do you like to use?
For fan art, I usually do traditional sketches with mechanical pencils, and sometimes I scan the sketches and use ‘em for digital art :0 ! For art in general, I LOVE acrylic painting  (esp. when it gets on my hands >:) ) and have found that I’m pretty okay at using colored pencils too, to my surprise!
What got you into art? what inspires you to keep creating art?
I have ADHD-I, more commonly known as ADD, so my experience in art is largely placed in doodling in school to help me listen better. I would only ever draw people until I got a formal education, and now I only draw people, like, 90% of the time...! My best friend and girlfriend are both artists, and they inspire me to create as well. My biggest inspiration, though, has been my hyperfixations throughout the years! For as long as I’ve been drawing, I’ve been drawing fanart, and I don’t regret it in the slightest. I love my interests too much! :D
What's your favorite/least favorite subjects to use in your art?
I LOVE drawing characters from my hyperfixations, so... that’s definitely my favorite subject to use. I don’t have a least favorite subject, honestly—I’m the kind of person whose default is to like things, so unless something actively gets on my nerves, I don’t dislike it! Even if I’m bad at it... (For which subject I’m worst with? Probably animals. Just haven’t practiced enough!!)
If you have any fun stories about the pieces you made, please do share!
The Legend I drew with pencil that I scanned (if you’d take a gander at my instagram) was created at around 1 AM one night when I was getting ready for bed, went to the bathroom, saw a roach in there, and promptly grabbed several towels, made my escape, and placed the rolled up towels under the bathroom door (so it couldn’t get out) and under my door (so I would feel slightly safer...). After that, I shut myself in my room and drew Legend in one adrenaline-pumped sitting, and decided to post it the next morning. That post turned out to be what made me return to my art account and become active, and was what led to my warm welcome into the LU art community on Instagram! So I guess I owe it all to the roach... thanks for being scary? In general, at this point, everything I’ve posted has been something I drew at an ABSURD hour of the night. (We’re talkin’ worked on from 1-5 AM, folks.) That’s when I can go longest without my focus being interrupted, because everyone else is asleep! And my ADHD medicine gives me insomnia if I take it too late! But I’m partying!
