#and he feels uneasy and stays relatively in her company (and his dads can sense that he feels bad but doesn't know what to do)
Skimblegus Family Time--Tumble takes after Asparagus more and more the older he gets, but Teazer takes after Skimble a lot more than people give her credit for. They're both these very bright, clever, and relentlessly cheerful cats who try to put a brave face on things and hide when they're not at their best. But when they crash, they crash hard; it became a bittersweet source of reconnection after she was free of Macavity, especially since Teazer didn't realize her dad ever had bad days. She can basically only stand to be around her dads, Tumble, and Mungojerrie on particularly awful days, and Skimble's learned more from Asparagus about how not to just pack those emotions away to worry about later. Plus, you know she's feeling better when she and Tumble can start picking at each other again.

I love it so much, and I love this little family <3
#Rumpleteazer#Skimbleshanks#Asparagus#Tumblebrutus#other headcanons#jellicles ask because jellicles dare#theimpossiblescheme#and of course because you and i share the braincell i had a very similar vein of thought#that teazer got told all the time how much like her father she was and she would scoff and do everything in her power to deny that#and she'd especially hate it when mungojerrie would say it because he usually did when he was annoyed with her and they were arguing#which became more frequent when they were with macavity#and skimble was so good at pretending everything was alright he turned it into an olympic sport#he broke down very rarely and when he *did* it was a sight#i also think he and teazer are a lot alike in that they will say things before thinking them through#particularly during high stress moments - and they can be downright nasty and say things they don't really mean#before their brains catch up to their mouths because they operate so *quickly* and so on the line with their immediate feelings#skimble has learned to tone it down over the years - teazer is still young and sometimes her mouth is too big#and of course when even tumble was hesitantly pushing his rope toy towards her and asking if maybe she wanted to play#even though they were way too old at the time after teazer came back you *knew* she was in a bad way#and he feels uneasy and stays relatively in her company (and his dads can sense that he feels bad but doesn't know what to do)#basically begging her to call him names or stick bugs in his ears or a worm in his bed or *something* because whoever this queen is#she isn't his step-sister and he doesn't like it#anyway many thoughts head scrambled - i love them so much thank you <3

Company | Megumi
The first time he summoned the divine dogs
note : a drabble i write bc a friend of mine suggested the idea of how megumi first discovered his technique. i had fun :D
He was around 6 or 7 when it happened,or at least that’s what he remembered. He had little to no memory about his mother, only able to see her face through very few photos taken by his father. Toji remarried another woman somewhere along the line and that’s how he met Tsumiki. Everything else was really a blur to him,how his step-mother was just suddenly gone and not long after his father returned home less and less, for whatever reason. Today as well Megumi returned from school after a relatively long walk with Tsumiki and entered their home to find their father slouching over the couch watching whatever was on the TV screen, beer in hand. He ignored him to make his way to his bedroom and left his school bag on the bed while he took a shower to refresh himself after a long day. The messy haired kid came back to the living room with a towel over his shoulders to find his father no longer there. Just Tsumiki in the kitchen cooking dinner for both of them.
“Where’s dad?” Megumi asked.
“He said he’s going out. Not sure when he’ll come back.”
He frowned at the response. This was nothing new to them, but still the kid felt a bit hurt. Toji would leave the house with nothing much but a small bag and wouldn’t return for days, weeks, sometimes even a month. Some other times Toji would come home drunk and would drink the days away before leaving the house again, not caring about the bottles of alcohol laying on the floor and carpet. On a rare occasion he’d see strange disfigured creatures around the house that he was unfamiliar with, before they disappeared just as fast as they had appeared. Megumi and his sister had gotten used to taking care of themselves and even to the point of raising themselves since they don’t really have anyone to help with homework or even house chores since they didn’t know where their parents were most of the time, nor they knew how they were doing.
Night falls and he’s now alone in his room. Megumi didn’t want to disturb Tsumiki who’s sleeping,so he decided to entertain himself who just so happens to have one of those sleepless nights. His hands moved around to make various shapes,so that when the shadow cast by the dim moonlight hit the wall a silhouette of different animals could be seen. Dogs, rabbits, birds, elephants and really any shape he could think of. "They could be your friends if you’re lonely." He knew how to do this because Toji taught him how to do it. Megumi often does this to pass time so he’d feel sleepy or just to cure his boredom. A good thirty minutes later and he felt his eyes getting heavy. Megumi pulled the blanket over him and lay down on the soft and fluffy mattress.
“I would prefer it if they’re home more often.” he murmurs to himself before finally falling into a slumber.
This goes on like a well-oiled machine. His father going out and not returning for a while, doing whatever. Him and Tsumiki taking care of the house by themselves. Megumi sometimes sees these strange creatures from time to time. It became the normality Megumi has been accustomed to and he didn’t really mind. He hoped his parents,or at least his dad would at least spend a bit more time at home. He wasn’t really close with his father but any other company other than Tsumiki would be nice once in a while. They barely talk unless it was necessary and Toji doing whatever he pleases just left them with less interaction.
On his way home this time,he got bored of walking back alone. Tsumiki had gone home first to cook and he had some extra work to do at school so what's he gonna do? Having nothing better to do and no one to talk to he started making shadow puppets to pass time as he continued his little walk. He felt his shadows moving a bit too unnaturally and Megumi quickly looked back only to find nothing wrong.
'"i'm probably just tired." He thought nothing of it and returned home.
Tsumiki and Toji welcomed him as he walked through the door and put away his shoes. After cleaning himself up Megumi walked into the living room to see his father carrying a bag and already putting on his shoes.
"You're going out again already?" He asked.
"Yeah." His father didn't say much.
"It's barely been a week." Tsumiki said.
"I got a work offer,so I had to go out to get some good cash so we can keep buying groceries."
Megumi frowned. He was never really close but hoped at least Toji would stay a bit longer. He usually leaves the house in intervals of two or three weeks since his return. And something didn't feel right. There's uneasiness clouding his head. Sensing his son's worry Toji knelt down and ruffled his already messy dark hair.
"Look,i'm gonna finnish this as soon as possible then i'll come back, alright?"
Megumi only nodded at the remark.
"Good. Be nice and don't do anything stupid while i'm gone. I don't want you worrying Tsumiki." Toji said before making his way to the door.
"I'll be back before you know it."
That was the last time he saw his father.
Both of them waited for a few days,a week, and soon it turned into a whole month, until almost three months had passed. Megumi and Tsumiki kept returning to an empty house, their father nowhere to be seen. His sister kept telling him that he'll probably be back soon and just make sure the house is cleaned so they wouldn't get scolded if he comes back. The days continued with Megumi often staying up late while his sister was already asleep, hoping his father would come home soon.
"Liar." he croaked out, wiping a tear away.
He'd sit alone in his room, sometimes looking out the window to see if he's home from this so-called work yet. Sometimes he wonders if he met some other girl and just decided to live with her, completely abandoning him and Tsumiki. He felt hurt, betrayed even. And to relief himself of these emotions he decided to entertain himself to sleep with the shadow puppets. It always helped him in these situations so why not.
He clapped his hands to form a wolf, when his shadow started moving vigorously. Megumi, scared, scrambled away and ended up falling off the bed with a thud. The dark shadow moved along the floors and soon started to form a shape of two dogs. Or was it wolves? The shadow manifested into two wolf dogs before him. One having pure white fur and the other pitch black. Megumi was scared with both hands defensively over his face when he saw both of them approaching him.
He only took a peek when he didn't feel anything for a short moment to find both of them… bowing to him? He was beyond confused. He then noticed the triangle marks on their head,a right side up for the black one and an inverted triangle for the white one. He didn't feel any malice from both of them, which just confused him even further.
"Hello?" He called out.
The wolf dogs stood up and just blinked at him. They were big, towering over Megumi easily. But their gaze was somewhat protective and kind, which eased him a bit. The kid reached out a hand to try and pet them,to which the white dog moved forward and he felt the soft fur against his palm. It wasn't long before both of them were nuzzling him, tickling Megumi which made him giggle. Both of them pulled back as Megumi just sat there examining them. He didn't know much other than they just suddenly seemed to come from his shadow. Suddenly both of them growled and faced another direction.
"W-what's wrong?" He asked,worried.
He saw on the corner of the room, that same disfigured creatures hissing at him,or rather, the dogs? It somewhat looked like a fly or the likes of it and the white dog jumped and bit through the creature,as it dissipated into a black smoke and disappeared.
He was too little to put the puzzle pieces together. What was going on right now,he had no idea. But when he saw both of them walking to him and nuzzling against his skin,he just knew for certain that he felt warm and safe in their care, for whatever reason he has yet to know. Without thinking much Megumi climbed back to his bed and patted the mattress as if to call them. Both the wolf dogs followed suit and climbed the rather spacious bed for a kid and two big dogs. That night he slept well among the two divine dogs,a small smile crossed his face before he fell into one of the nicest sleep he ever had in a while.
"Don't be silly Megumi, there's no way a dog would break into the house. I would've known about it."
"I swear i saw them. There's two of the dogs and they slept with me."
"Maybe you're just dreaming."
“I’m not!”
He was a bit angry and pouted before walking away, knowing this debate was pointless. Megumi had woken up the next day to find both of them gone without any trace. He tried to tell his sister about it but she wouldn't believe her. True it seemed like a fever dream or some sort. Maybe it was just some things he imagined about. But he couldn't help but be curious about the whole incident.
That night he stood alone in his room, feeling a bit nervous. It's a tiring day today at school and their father had yet to return. He was feeling lonely and didn't want to disturb Tsumiki simply because she had an exam tomorrow, and that she told him not to disturb her. Megumi recalled the previous night, how he had done the shadow puppet of the dog and that's how it started. He did the same thing again tonight trying to make sure it was all real. He wasn’t expecting much out of this, but sure enough his shadow started moving again. He was still surprised thought not as much this time, and took a step back as he watched the shadow form into the two wolf dogs he saw last night. Megumi stood there in awe and shock as both of them approached him before embracing him in some sort of a hug.
Megumi couldn't help but smile as he drifted off into a slumber. He might try to find a time to tell her sister about this, but for now he's just happy to have some company for when he's feeling lonely.

Wanna be tagged in? Just tell me!
Scrapes and bruises littered your body, but you couldn’t help but feel a sense of relief wash over you. As the soapy, warm water engulfed your figure, you began to relax and collect your thoughts.
You’re safe... at least, for the time being. You’re terrified to think of what might happen when you leave this room. Your mind drifted back to all the happy memories you experienced and you smiled weakly. Revisiting the dreadful memory that took place afterwards was inevitable. Tears streamed down your cheeks as you relived the most difficult times of your life.
You wiped the tears from your eyes and let out a soft exhale. That stranger you encountered somehow opened your eyes and gave you hope. He seemed trustworthy and kind, but could you learn to trust again? You weren’t entirely certain. But for now, the only thing you needed to do was to find the necessary courage and strength to face him again.
After your bath, Sam helped you disinfect some cuts on your arms and face. You acquired them in a struggle to protect yourself - to defend your integrity.
This was what you wanted the man in front of you to believe. After all, he was just stranger you would never cross paths with again. To put it simply, when you have recovered you would have to leave Sam to return to your arduous journey once again.
Nobody really had your back in the real world. It’s always been just you working your butt off trying so hard to make ends meet day after day. The long journey put your survival skills to the test. Up until now, you have been travelling high and low to return to the place you once called home. With very little money and food, you’re surprised you even made it this far. And it had been really hard. It seemed like the whole world wanted to see you suffer, but instead you only grew stronger. You developed a lust for life you had never felt before and manipulation happened to be your area of expertise. Whenever an opportunity arose for you to put your skills to use you never declined. Hurting people had never been your intention, so you used your words to get what you wanted.
Up until this point, your life had been a continuous obstacle course and you did not have the time to dedicate to the life you always wanted.
The only people who ever truly loved you, were your parents. But after their unfortunate passings, your relatives did everything they could to cut you out and claim your parents’ estate. And they eventually succeeded.
If eliminating your mom and dad had been easy, you certainly weren’t viewed as a threat.
You were hungry for revenge, as it was the only thing that fueled you each and every morning. All you wanted to do was to avenge your family name after your so called “family” walked all over it.
Revisiting your thoughts about your revenge filled you to the brim with anger and resentment.
"There you go," Sam murmured under his breath as he carefully placed the last bandage on your forehead. "Good as new!"
"Thank you,” you lifted your face to meet his soft gaze. “I apologize for being such a bother,” you averted your eyes.
"No worries! Really! I enjoyed your company.” Sam shrugged with a grin and added, “I had nothing better to do, I guess you could say.”
You looked up to meet his twinkling, hazel eyes. Upon meeting his steady gaze, a  strange but familiar feeling set into your soul. You felt a sense of protection that you had not felt in years.
Sam gave you a small pat on the back, breaking the intense moment the two of you shared. “Whaddaya say we grab a bite to eat? I'm starving.”
You agreed with a nod, “I wouldn’t mind some food right about now.”
"Preach it, Sister,” Sam joked, attempting to lighten the mood. “What would like to eat?"
You giggled, "Whatever is fine with me.”
"Alright. There’s this place nearby that makes the BEST sandwiches. Stay put ‘till I come back, and... take a nap, you could really use one,” the man spoke before heading out the door.
Just outside the door, Sam began to grow angry. He couldn’t help it- he was hosting a stranger who had suffered extreme violence few hours earlier.
Moreover, the person who Sam would have liked to meet had decided not to show up yet again.
It had been months since last time he had heard from the woman he had loved so intensely that he still had reoccuring dreams about her.
"Why?" was the usual question he asked himself. It didn’t make very much sense. A wise person once told him that if you love something, you should let it go. If it returns to you, then it was meant to be. But if not, then maybe letting them go was the right thing to do. But in his case, he was still waiting.
Sam shoved his hands in pockets and continued his trek to the nearest 24-hour market. Along the motel driveway, he noticed that there were no lights, and darkness enveloped everything within the perimeter.
He was alone, but that wasn’t the worst part. It was the fact was that he was alone with his thoughts and fears that sucked. The darkness seemed to envelope him completely and has recently become extremely difficult to ignore. It caused Sam to feel uncomfortable.
Technically he had endured worse things, like Panama, for example. The excruciating pain of three bullets wedged in his body, and the mental trauma in which he and Nathan endured were enough to scar him as a kid.
Sam reluctantly pushed his thoughts to the back of his mind as soon as the market sign appeared just across the street.
He ordered as quickly as possible because he didn't want to leave you on your own for too long. Besides the sandwiches, he grabbed a sturdy bottle of hard liquor, as well as a bottle of water and a couple of chocolate bars in an effort to cheer you up.
Once he retrieved the long awaited sandwiches, he swiftly made his way to the cash register to pay for his groceries.
The cashier was a hot blonde chick that was chewing gum noisily and if it wasn't for that annoying detail, Sam would have probably flirted with her.
"How much do I owe you?"
"Forty dollars and sixty nine cents, babe,” she flashed a flirty grin Sam’s way and twirled a strand of her golden hair around her finger.
As Sam searched for the change, the woman placed her elbows on the countertop and leaned forward. She pushed her arms closer together, causing her breasts to spill from her top. "Sixty nine is my favorite number," she commented, pursing her lips.
Sam’s growing bulge twitched as he watched the attractive blonde in front of him, accidentally knocking the sandwiches fell to the floor. He ran his hand through his well coiffed hair with a smirk and turned to face her. “Mine too,” he winked.
He picked up his fallen items off of the ground and left in a hasty manner. Fuck, either I still have effect on women or that chick was REALLY horny. Sam thought to himself as he lit a cigarette and walked back to the motel.
When the motel came into view, Sam disposed of his cigarette and searched for a trash can like all good people do.
He spotted one to the right of him and as soon as he lifted the lid, something caught his attention. Inside there was a backpack. Sam’s curiosity got the best of him which caused him to instinctively reach his arm out and grab it.
Sam opened it carefully and peeked inside. There were clothes, some books and a notebook with a bold sticker on the front cover.
A name was written on it: Y/F/N Y/L/N.
It was your diary.
He frowned, feeling uneasy. With a sigh, he opened the journal and flipped through the pages.
"...what?!" he gasped.
“I can’t believe this”, Sam angrily shoved the journal into the bag. How could she have taken advantage of his kindness? If there was one thing Sam Drake could not stand, it was was being mistaken for a fool.
At least not in that precise moment of his life.
He then hit the road back to the motel.
