#mae overshares#(prev. yolanda)#or elves who didnt talk as much in the movies and had one or more lines in the books#gildor is not even that interesting but like. he talked and i rejoiced in that. also he's a noldor. huge bonus#i completely forget abt this character and that he encountered frodo when hes travelling with bunch of ppl in shire#and he was SUPER nice. wouldn't expect anything less from anyone in the house of finrod tho. their lord is the friend of Men after all#and it seems his love for race of men extends to all mortals too. anyways stan finrod#i dont begrudge PJ for changing it to pipping throwing a stone to distract the ring wraith. and frodo and sam saw some wood elves from afar#it makes sense to not introduce too many speaking characters that wouldnt matter later on#glorfindel being one of them. hes nice but then again. idc Arwen replaced him. arwen actually played a part later on#and this universe is extremely lacking of warrior elf women. so#reading lotr books is more enjoyable than watching lotr movies these days because...More Elf Content#re-reading lotr has been a treat...i love#but tbh im re-reading it mostly cause i decide to write a celebrimbor AU fic (as if i need more wip other than my huge dragon age fics)#and celebrimbor LIVES in that AU and he might or might not show up for the entirety of events of lotr#all about exploring legacies of Elder Days. and its impact on middle earth. all abt lineage and legacy. trauma of war#and dare i say...cultural identity? ok its not that deep. maybe. just abt them elves and abt my dude celebrimbor getting a happy ending#gildor will be in it tho. as the half-elven son of caranthir (its complicated but also a secret and he rejected house of feanor)#that oc was gonna be a oc instead of result of me projecting what i want on an existing character but hey#im just so giddy to relate the events of lotr to legacy of Feanor tbh. and putting an elf i care abt in the fellowship lmao#so other than those Extra Elf Content. this is also another reason why im having such fun re-reading the books
